OSHA is replacing traditional hard hats used by its employees with more modern safety helmets to protect them better when they are on inspection sites. Legal Recreational Weed and Work

Auman, Mahan, and Furry (AMF is NIA's legal counsel firm) issued a client alert after Ohio became the 24th state to legalize recreational marijuana. Even though the statute retained employers’ rights to address marijuana, employers should still take time to review their current policies and decide if employee use of recreational marijuana, even off duty, is something they want to prohibit, or permit. There is no one size fits all approach to addressing recreational marijuana in your workplace. Each workplace has its own challenges and each state you may be working in has its own law addressing marijuana use and testing.

Listen to a podcast from AMF's Abbie White and Doug Jenks. Look for more about this topic in the January issue of Insulation Outlook.
