From Feb. 17 through April 3, let’s do Lent together as a church! We'll be on a path together that leads us straight to Easter!

We recommend you check out the multimedia Lent Project, by Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts, where you will find daily offerings of spiritual insight, art, poetry, and music to facilitate your contemplation of God. Here’s the link.

As we travel this path together, let’s see the Holy Spirit create a movement of spiritual renewal in His church!
This Friday's focus: Experiences of Failure

You're invited to an open conversation about calling as it relates to experiences of failure. When do we know if failure is a closed door from God? How do we know when failures are steps in the course of our calling? How do we personally deal with failure in our calling? This Fri., Feb. 19, at 7 p.m., we'll share on these kinds of topics. These conversations complement the current sermon series, to help bring about real-life movement and growth as God directs each one of us. Join us via this Zoom link.
This Sunday at 11 a.m.!

Following this Sunday service's testimony of calling from award-winning screenwriter Andrea Nasfell, we'll have a Zoom Q&A for you to converse with her. How did she make certain life choices? How did she pray about it or hear from God? What about timing, and hard lessons learned? Trials and failures? Dilemmas and crossroads? As we journey in Exodus, these Q&As are opportunities to examine how God works in real lives to speak into our lives — gaining insight, perspective, and wisdom in community. Join us on Sunday via this Zoom link!
COMMUNION SUNDAY: This coming Sun., Feb. 21, we will take communion together (remotely) during our 9:30 a.m. Worship Service. Prepare before the service begins, using bread- and juice-type elements you have available at home.

ONE-SESSION GROWTH CLASSES: Join us on Sun., Feb. 28, at 11 a.m., for our first one-time, one-day, one-hour-or-so Growth Classes! On that one Sunday, you'll be able to choose from the three classes that Emmanuel pastors Brian Chan, Bob Drummond, and David Hoffman will teach via Zoom.

  • Act Justly, with David Hoffman: Micah 6:8 is one of the great summaries of how God’s people should live in order to represent Him. Join David Hoffman for an overview of the theme of biblical justice, to help us all live into this call. Act Justly Zoom link.

  • Setting Up 'Value Fences' for Your Teens, with Bob Drummond: Pre-teens and teens need room to roam as they grow toward maturity. Pastor Bob Drummond will explain how parents can set up “value fences” that give your teens room to live, while staying within your family's values. This class is applicable to all parents, but especially relevant to parents of pre-teens and teenagers. Value Fences Zoom link.

  • Called to be Creative, with Brian S. Chan: What is the biblical meaning and mandate for human creativity? Learn about the higher purpose of creativity, according to the Scriptures. See real examples of creativity, and consider how you can be creative for God's kingdom-building purposes. Creative Zoom link.

SEE'S CANDIES FUNDRAISER: Help Emmanuel's youth raise funds for camp with their online fundraiser! From now until March 19, you can post their virtual storefront to your social media, for your friends and family to purchase candy! Online purchases will be sent directly to the purchasers' homes. Candy will ship in plenty of time for Easter! For more info, contact Kathy Drummond at kathy@emmanuelburbank.org.
