New York State Sheriffs' Showdown
  Coming July 20 to Hemlock Fair

Please join New York State Sheriffs and be a part of the inaugural Sheriffs' Showdown happening July 20 at High Noon at the Hemlock Fairgrounds in Hemlock, NY. You can k ick up your heels, watch and cheer, as Sheriffs from throughout New York State compete in a friendly mounted competition.  All proceeds to benefit the New York State Sheriffs' Summer Camp.

  Oneida County:
  Sheriff Speaks on Importance
  of Slow Moving Vehicle Safety

Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol speaks to students, farmers and highway safety professionals at the county's Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) Safety Open House. The two-day event was organized by Sheriff Maciol and the Oneida County Farm Bureau, and was hosted by Clinton Tractor & Implement Co. The New York State Sheriff Association's Law Enforcement Liaison Anthony D'Agostino provided SMV triangles to participants thanks to funding from the New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

  Yates County:  
  K9 Demonstration & Training  
The New York State Sheriffs' Institute sponsored a K9 School Training Conference this spring, including free public demonstrations by the Yates County Sheriff's Office (YCSO). Law enforcement from across the state participated in the school. YCSO Deputy Brandon Jenson narrated each demonstration, including search, handler protection, narcotics detection, felony apprehension and obedience. The event was held at the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club.
