Thank you for being a part of the 2023 Empire State Winter Games! Over 2,000 athletes competed in their favorite sport, despite the frigid temperatures. We would like to wish our athletes good luck as they continue to train and grow in their sport. We hope you will come out and play in the 2024 Empire State Winter Games!

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Athlete of the Year!

The Empire State Winter Games and Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York will present the annual Athlete of the Year award to an athlete who participated in the 2023 Games and embodies the character and spirit of the Empire State Winter Games.

Coaches, Sport Coordinators, fellow athletes, or associated sports clubs are encouraged to submit nominations for consideration. One finalist will be chosen from each sport by their respective ESWG Sport Coordinator and the Athlete of the Year Committee.

The Overall Winner will receive an award plaque, complimentary registration for the 2024 Games, the opportunity to light the cauldron at the 2024 opening ceremony, a $1000 donation to a sports organization - winner's choice (pending AOTY committee approval), and more.

Nominations are open through February 26, 2023.*

* The Ski Jumping Athlete fo the Year will be selected in March, after their competition.
