Your participation in the 2025 Employee Engagement Survey, now open through October 17, is highly valued. The survey has been revised since we last collected this data in 2022, to meet current needs and help shape our future. Along with sharing results with ISU employees, survey data is used to adapt, update or implement processes that support increased employee engagement throughout the University.
This refreshed and updated employee engagement survey is the result of the efforts of the Employee Engagement Task Force, comprised of faculty and staff, including significant input from the Office of Institutional Research, who collaborated to refine this survey.
Some key updates from the 2022 survey are:
- Questions have been moved from a 7-point Likert scale to a 5-point Likert scale to simplify responses, increase response reliability, reduce the risk of central tendency bias, and ease analysis and communication of findings. Previous data collected on a 7-point scale can be normalized to ensure consistency with longitudinal data.
- In accordance with new state and federal guidance, some questions have been removed or rephrased.
- Previous Yes/No questions and 5-star rating questions have been revised for a 5-point Likert scale response for consistency.
- Questions are now grouped into three categories: Work Environment and Culture, Leadership, and Engagement and Recognition. Within each category, new questions have been added to collect additional information.
This survey will take approximately 5-7 minutes and is anonymous. Your input is important and the survey will close on October 17.
