I would like to share with you some disappointing news.
As you may already know, Orange County’s 14-day rolling positivity rate has increased dramatically this week to 7.78%. Two weeks ago, it was 4.28%. We are now considered in the high-risk category by the CDC for community transmission.
Given the significant increase in Orange County’s rolling positivity rate and COVID-19 infections, I strongly recommend that both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents wear a facial covering when in crowded indoor spaces.
We cannot emphasize enough the importance of getting vaccinated against this deadly disease.
Barnett Park remains open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and offers the Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
In addition to the vaccine, residents can get COVID-19 testing at Barnett Park through the end of this month. The #IGotMyShot mobile vaccination trailer continues to visit neighborhoods and businesses throughout Orange County. Tomorrow afternoon, the trailer will be at the Northwest Neighborhood Center on WD Judge Drive. On Friday afternoon, the trailer will be at the Citrus Square Neighborhood Center on Hickey Drive. For more information about vaccine locations, visit ocfl.net/vaccine.
It’s hard to believe, but there are less than three months left in the County’s fiscal year, which ends on September 30, 2021. That is also the deadline to earn at least 70 myOCWellness points for employees and/or spouses who are on the County’s medical benefits plan. Earning at least 70 points guarantees you will receive the $20 wellness credit per pay period in 2022. If you haven’t earned your points yet, there is still time. It can be as simple as getting your annual physical (50 points) and completing Cigna’s online self-assessment (20 points). The myOCWellness opportunities listed below can also help you earn your 70 points by September 30, 2021. For questions or more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
