CTPF EMPLOYEE NEWS | SEPTEMBER 2023

Hopefully, you are reading this having recently completed the employee review and goal setting process with your manager. As we embark on a year of learning and growing together, I want to emphasize a key principle that lies at the heart of our success: the power of goal setting and the immense value of learning and growing together.

Goal setting is more than just a task, it's a mindset that propels us forward and brings us together. When we set clear, achievable goals, we create a roadmap for our efforts, enabling us to measure progress and channel our energies effectively. Each goal we set helps us stay on track for the year and contributes to our shared mission.

One of my own goals for this year is to enhance my communications skills. I’ll be taking a course in executive communication at the University of Chicago to help ensure that I communicate effectively within our organization and with our external stakeholders.

However, our growth doesn't stop at personal accomplishments -- it extends to the growth we experience as a team. We are a community of diverse talents, ideas, and experiences, and this wealth of knowledge becomes our greatest asset when we learn and grow together. Collaboration, open communication, and a willingness to share insights are the cornerstones of our work together. By learning from each other, we unlock new perspectives, challenge assumptions, and collectively elevate the quality of our work.

I am excited for the year ahead and look forward to working with all of you as we embark on another exciting year, learning and growing together.

Neighborhood Spotlight: Maggie Daley Park

As we move into the end of summer, we have less and less days to spend outside before the colder months. A great place to enjoy the sunshine with family and friends is Maggie Daley Park. Located just one mile from the CTPF office, Maggie Daley is a 20-acre park that connects to Millennium Park via the BP Pedestrian Bridge. The park offers a children's playground, climbing wall, mini golf, picnic groves, a skating ribbon, tennis courts, and a formal garden. Learn more and plan your visit at maggiedaleypark.com.

Note: Neighborhood spotlight is our new feature highlighting fun places and activities in the neighborhood around CTPF. Have a suggestion? Please email communications@ctpf.org.

Performance Review Timeline

During our Town Hall Meeting on March 31, the timeline for 2023 Performance reviews was shared.

Update Your CTPF Materials

Our communications team works hard to make sure the Fund puts its best foot forward when communicating with the public, and we appreciate your help with this. If you are using any kind of letterhead, template, etc., with a “money green” logo, it is out of date and needs to be replaced with our current brand standards. If you need assistance with this, please email communications@ctpf.org and we’ll be happy to help update your projects.

Supply Room Needs

If you notice that we’re running low on supplies, please email administrativeservices@ctpf.org and note the items needed. Please help keep the supply room tidy by tossing out empty boxes and packaging.

The next KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training campaign will run from Monday, August 21, through Monday, September 25. All CTPF employees are required to complete all their

KnowBe4 Security Hints & Tips: USB Drive Scams

Have you ever found a USB drive or a CD on the ground or in a parking lot? While you may be curious to see what data is on the USB drive or CD, you should never insert unknown objects into your computer.

Cybercriminals can use USB drives or CDs to steal information and gain unauthorized access to your organization’s network. If you insert unknown devices into your computer, cybercriminals can immediately put malicious code into your computer. By the time you can see what information is loaded on the object, cybercriminals may have already damaged your computer.

Cyberattacks could cost your organization thousands or even millions of dollars. Remember to always refer to your organization’s policies or consult your IT department to help you handle these situations.
