Oil recovery is key area of opportunity for ICM this year. Our FOT Oil Recovery™ system has received a lot of interest for its many benefits and quick return on investment.

FOT Oil Recovery™ is a proprietary process that improves the separation of solids and liquids from the whole stillage and performs a two-pass washing step on the solids. The first step removes large solids from the whole stillage and pushes more oil to the centrate for recovery downstream. The cake from the first step moves to second separation, where impurities are removed to create a dry cake with high protein content. The centrate from the second separation also has a high oil content that can be recovered in the wash water as it recycles through the production process.

FOT Oil Recovery™ increases available distillers corn oil for recovery in biorefineries, while reducing moisture load to dryers, thus reducing natural gas and providing BTU savings.

Below freezing temperatures, snow and ice covered parking lots, broken pipes, and broken heaters are just a few things that have kept ICM's maintenance team extra busy this month.

We want to send a huge thank you to Jonathon Grantham, Joe Weninger, Dustin Johnson, and Nick Allen for all of their efforts to keep ICM employees safe and warm at the office.

This team comes in at 3:30 AM during winter weather, bundled up and ready to face the freezing temperatures to make sure the parking lot and walkways are cleared. In addition, this severe cold wreaked havoc on our heating system and pipes, creating more issues than normal. This team is focused on taking care of our facilities, to ensure the best working conditions for employees. We appreciate their hard work and dedication.

SharePoint Online

Hopefully you've had the opportunity to check out the new SharePoint Online, which is replacing the existing ICMNet.

The updated front page was designed based on feedback employees provided in a March 2023 survey. The new refreshed look is intended to create a more streamlined and user-friendly content hub for internal communications and employee resources. Click here for a quick video highlighting the new resources and layout.

Connecting with Customers

We kicked off our conference season this month! First #TeamICM attended the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Summit. We look forward to sponsoring this event each year, catching up with our industry friends, and supporting biofuel policy initiatives in the region.

Then our team traveled to Texas for the 2024 Ethanol Plant Managers Meeting! This is another opportunity to connect with our customers, learn about their needs, and promote our product and services.

Lunch and Learn

All creatures need protein. Where should that protein originate? How does ethanol technology fit into the equation? During this Lunch and Learn, Dr. Ryan Mass explained the different nutritional needs for dairy and beef cows. In addition, he provided the results of ICM sponsored research related to the nutritional and economic benefits of the feed products produced by our technologies. ICM Scholarship Applications Now Open

If you have a child currently enrolled or planning to attend college or trade school, they can apply for an ICM Innovation for Education Scholarship. Applications are now open for the 2024-2025 school year.

Funds raised through donations to the annual golf tournament have provided more than 150 scholarships over the last ten years to students of ICM employees. Click here for the application. The deadline for submission is March 31st.

New Playground!

ICM made a lot of local kids happy by helping fund a new playground at Colwich Elementary. The Pre-K students sent a thank you note, showing off their new place to play at recess!
