Farm 2 Veteran, 6T Ranch, and 300lbs of local beef for GPD!

Thanks to an amazing organization Farm 2 Veteran, GPD has a brand-new freezer fully stocked with 300lbs of locally raised beef from 6T Ranch; and delivered on National Beef Day, nonetheless! Farm 2 Veteran is a nonprofit from Illinois that connects local farms across the country with other nonprofits and veterans’ organizations to squash food insecurity. Foster Youth Grads 2024! ?

Foster Youth had 24 graduates this year including 4 post-secondary graduates! Our foster youth program partnered with Catholic Charities, Safety Net, and WA State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) for a graduation ceremony/party at Wonderland Family Fun Center. Safety Net donated $6,000 in gift cards to the graduating youth between VOA, Catholic Charities, and DCYF! DCYF contributed to the Wonderland celebration with tokens and passes for the youth to enjoy with a friend. Catholic Charities provided the youth who attended with luggage. Congratulations to all our outstanding graduates who have shown such resilience and determination to realize their aspirations and achieve their goals!

June Employee of the Month Kalen Welty! ?

Kalen Welty - started in February 2024 as a temporary employee, and it very quickly became clear that he is an absolute asset to the Finance team. He quickly learned the Finance processes and made many timesaving recommendations through workflow optimization and utilizing technology to boost productivity!

Kalen quickly moved into the Grant and Contract Billing Specialist position when it became available and has been a quick learner (all while having an amazing sense of humor)!

We are so very thankful that he is a permanent part of the Finance team!
