Yearlong Wellness Activities
We are excited to roll out our comprehensive yearlong wellness program focusing on your physical health, employee benefits, mental health, and financial health. We will be offering a variety of activities centered on these topics throughout the year. We will be awarding points for your participation in the various activities with a recognition of our high-point winners in May. We will be sending out monthly newsletters highlighting upcoming events.

Health Screenings (100 Points)/Flu Shots (20 Points) Sign Up
As part of your employee benefits package, we are now offering all employees a free comprehensive health screening and flu shots in all of our buildings. Research has shown that preventive health screenings have the benefit of early detection of potential problems and can be a key to staying healthy. The earlier a health problem is detected, the more treatable it is likely to be. Starting in September, we will be sending a link to sign up for your free screening and flu shot. Click here to view the Screening Schedule . Health screenings are worth 100 points and flu shots are worth 20 points. 
Health and Wellness Fair (10 Points) - September 11 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Please join us on Wednesday, 9/11, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Jacobs High School - Commons for our District 300 Health & Wellness Fair to engage in your health and wellness to set you up for a successful school year. Speak with representatives from Northwestern Medicine, Kane County Teachers’ Credit Union, and other community vendors to learn about the yearlong wellness activities planned to support your well-being. Your attendance at this event is worth 10 points.  
Benefits 101 (5 Points)
Earn 5 points by attending a Benefits 101 presentation and learn how to maximize your employee benefits. Presentations will take place as follows:

  • Thursday, 9/12 from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at Central Office
  • Thursday, 9/19 from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at CMS
  • Thursday, 9/26 from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at HMS

Register in Frontline and attend this event to earn 5 points. 
Well on Target Web Sign Up (5 Points)
Earn 5 points when you sign up for Blue Cross Blue Shield Well on Target. Well on Target is a suite of integrated wellness offerings designed to help you reach your wellness goals with personalized tools and resources to support your health and wellness. Click on this link to sign up and earn 5 points. Note: This benefit is only available to employees taking the District insurance plan.
What is an EAP? Scavenger Hunt (5 Points) - September 11-27
From 9/11 - 9/27, click on this link to participate in an online scavenger hunt to learn more about our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). D300 offers all District employees and their families confidential free assessments and unlimited short term counseling sessions through our EAP. Services are provided at no cost for family, marital, stress, or emotional problems, psychological disturbances, legal and financial difficulties, and chemical dependency. Participate in the scavenger hunt to earn 5 points and learn more about our EAP services. 
Build a Basic Budget (5 Points)
In September, Kane County Teachers Credit Union will present information to help you set realistic financial goals, identify “spending leaks,” track where your money goes, develop a spending plan, avoid the pitfalls of overspending, and manage your tracking and spending system. Presentations are scheduled as follows:

  • Thursday, 9/12 from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at HMS
  • Thursday, 9/19 from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at Central Office
  • Thursday, 9/26 from 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at CMS

Money Management Webinar (2 Points)
On Thursday, 9/12 from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. , you can participate in a live Transamerica Money Management webinar to learn about the importance of saving, budgeting, and investing. A healthy financial picture should include all three. In this session, you can see how they all work together for a beautiful harmony. You can also view the webinar starting on 10/3. Earn 2 points by participating in or viewing the webinar.
