Employer-Sponsored Active&Fit ® Program Changes in 2020
The employer-sponsored Active&Fit ® program will undergo two primary changes effective January 1, 2020.

  1. Membership dues will change from a single annual payment of $100 to a monthly payment of $10 for a multi-gym membership to fitness centers such as 24 Hour Fitness in Hawaii.
  2. Active&Fit® members may choose to buy up their membership for access to one fitness center from an expanded network (for example, UFC Gym). Monthly fees are $59, $89, or $119 depending on the selected facility. You may switch facilities or move back to the $10 multi-gym membership at any time, effective on the first day of the following month.

These changes will require existing Active&Fit members to re-register on .

IRS Extends Deadline for 2019 ALE Reporting
The IRS has extended the due date for furnishing 2019 health coverage statements to employees. The new deadline is March 2, 2020 (previously January 31, 2020). The extension applies to 2019 Forms 1095-B and 1095-C. 
Not Too Late for a Flu Shot!
HMAA provides members with free vaccines from a variety of partnered pharmacies until February 2020 through our Flu Prevention Program . Employers may also host a worksite vaccination clinic by contacting .
Where to Go for Care
The holiday season is often a busy time for urgent care centers and emergency rooms. Members can avoid some of the stress of seeking medical care by knowing which facility or service is right for their situation – whether a cough, sore throat, flu, prescription refill, allergic reaction, or broken bone. When you need medical care and are unable to see your primary care physician, following are a few general guidelines. 

  • HMAA’s HiDoc® Telemedicine Service enables you to see a doctor online or by phone for non-emergent medical issues while traveling or when seeing your regular doctor is not convenient. Consultations are available at no cost to HMAA members.
  • Urgent Care Facilities have doctors and nurses equipped to handle non-life-threatening situations typically found at your doctor’s office.
  • Emergency Rooms handle trauma and life-threatening situations.
