What does WPH believe?

Business, Labour & Community: Planning for Prosperity!

Employers: Be part of the Connect to Careers Job Fair and meet your future workforce!

Connect to Careers is Greater Hamilton's largest job fair and is taking place for its fourth year. This fair attracts students and alumni from McMaster, Mohawk, Redeemer and Hamilton community members.

What makes this fair different from other career fairs? As an employer you get the best of both worlds, you have exclusive access to students and alumni from three top post-secondary institutions along with community members with diverse backgrounds all in one location. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the FirstOntario Centre on the 2nd of February.

How was employer turn out last year? Over 100 employers were welcomed to the fair. This year there will be a significant increase because of positive publicity and feedback from both local media and the guests.

Thousands of qualified job seekers. An amazing array of employers currently hiring. Three leading educational institutes. One Massive job fair.

The 2017 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) application period for employers is now open.

Apply before January 20, 2017!

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees to create summer jobs for students between the ages of 15 and 30.

The application form as well as the applicant guide is available at www.canada.ca/canada-summer-jobs. You can submit your application online, by mail or in person at any Service Canada Centre.

We encourage you to submit your 2017 application online.

Employers: Be part of the solution, complete the EmployerOne survey today!

The EmployerOne survey has been open since the beginning of January and already close to 100 business owners and HR managers have completed the survey!

Why is it important to complete the redesigned EmployerOne?

By sharing your company's challenges, hiring needs and plans for the future you will help WPH pinpoint industry trends and report back on the status of the local labour market.

Your feedback will help youth, and other job seekers make informed decisions about skills training.
