Boeing

In October 2009, Boeing selected the North Charleston site for a new 1.2 million-square-foot facility. South Carolina teammates began production in 2011, the first airplane rolled out of final assembly on April 2021. In 2014, Boeing South Carolina broke ground on a second, 256,000-sqare-foot-facility that opened late 2016.

Since the opening of the first facility, Boeing has been a leader in the Veteran space in South Carolina, supporting several large Veteran-serving organizations across the state, consistently demonstrating a desire to hire/retain Veterans at their company, and providing thought leadership in the space as well.

A giant within the aerospace and defense industry, Boeing is committed to serving Veterans and their families on a national level as well:

Veterans represent 14.6% of the Boeing's workforce
Since 2010, the company hired more than 13,500 veterans
There are 33 employee-lead Veteran Engagement Team Chapters within the company
The company's 2020 veteran-owned business subcontracting totaled $490 million
In 2021, Boeing awarded more than $8 million to 98 charitable organizations supporting veterans

Boeing has supported VBH since 2020, funding all of our efforts in the Midlands of South Carolina (Chester, Chesterfield, Lancaster, and York Counties). We are proud to partner with Boeing to help ensure Veterans and their families thrive beyond their military service.
