Snapshots from our village...

“I never want to leave here,” a teen – recently reunited

with her mom at FLS – confides...

A young mom, formerly facing jail time, leans into

God’s love & grace, earning high praise at her job through

her hard work & kindness...

A mom of five, sober two years now, digs deep to grow new fruit, fighting hard for the hearts of her children...

Another mom shows her smile more frequently, a result of better emotional choices, a rewarding new job, & the ah-ha moments she’s embraced after a year of staff mentorship...

A resident from decades past returns to volunteer on

campus, serving FLS kids weekly – her changed life now a

luminous example of hope.

These snapshots reflect real life at FLS. This is where we are: even in the valleys, God is moving mountains. For 81 years, Family Life Services has offered refuge for those in crisis, using you as He’s sustained this ministry to the most vulnerable. You are more than ‘supporters’ to us—you’re partners, and we want to tell you where we’re headed.

Our long waitlist—currently over 200 single moms–reflects a desperate need in Colorado Springs and a dramatic rise in family homelessness. Skyrocketing housing costs pushes stable housing out of reach and leaves single moms in crisis struggling. When moms struggle, kids do too, and destructive patterns can replicate. But when moms take courageous steps in a new direction, the trajectories of their families change for generations. Beauty rises from ashes.

At the same time, our infrastructure is at an inflection point. As you know, many of our buildings date back to WW II and they are in desperate need of replacement. To meet this growing need in our city, our Board, prayerfully and with discernment, is pursuing a plan to double our capacity, expanding on our own 2 acres from 9 expired to 18 new apartments. This goal is audacious. But we believe the time is now. We receive 20-30 calls each month from moms we can’t serve simply because we don’t have room.

When moms take courageous steps in a new direction, the trajectories of their families

change for generations.

We’re a lean ministry. Every operational dollar we receive matters for the moms we serve, and we do this on $375,000 a year, continually serving nine resident families leaving behind homelessness and domestic violence and working with over 25 families through our nonresidential program, Women of Courage. We’re also a nimble ministry. All our staff are part-time, and we skillfully pivot as a unified team to meet the many needs of families in crisis.

Because of you, we’re operationally healthy, and we seek your operational support for this year as well. We know the God Who moves mountains is in control—of our past and our future.

When you choose to give to FLS, you become a city builder, a legacy leaver, an investor in a village that alters families’ trajectories. Your giving dollars impact all who find refuge now– and all who will in the future. We’re currently blessed with $550,000 in a seed fund, set aside to support the expansion, and every dollar that we receive in surplus of our modest budget will fund this crucial next step – a Reimagined, Rebuilt Village of Family Life.

Your gift makes a difference—for where we are AND where we’re going.

If you’d like to learn more about our Reimagined, Rebuilt Village of Family Life, we invite you to reach out for a more intimate conversation about these plans. We covet your prayers in the process. Thank you in advance for considering a year-end gift that changes lives...now, and yet to come.

May the peace of Christ be yours this Christmas.
