At Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC), we are dedicated to empowering low-income Cambodian youth, helping them unlock their full potential in education, employment, and community leadership. Our vision is a Cambodia where every young person plays a vital role in driving sustainable development. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors like you, we’ve seen extraordinary results: 100% of the 2022 graduates reported positive outcomes, with 61.5% secured decent jobs, with some earning over $700 per month—2.5 times the government-set basic income of $204, 75% continuing their education, and 87.5% actively giving back to their communities. To date, 265 students (50% female) have earned their bachelor’s degrees.

As a scholarship sponsor, you will receive:

Sponsoring options

We would be honored to have you join us as a JWOC sponsor. You can choose from the following flexible payment options:

JWOC full scholarship & enhancement support $1500/year: This complete scholarship package enables one student to go to university by covering their tuition fees and textbooks for one year. JWOC provides enhanced programming covering English proficiency, computer literacy, life skills, career guidance and youth leadership. Donors are requested to continue to sponsor their student’s education annually through the completion of their university program.

JWOC half & enhancement support $750/year: Your gift will be paired with another donor to provide a full scholarship for one student for one year. After the annual recruitment and selection process you and your paired donor will be introduced to your student, learn about their background and receive periodic updates throughout their university education. Donors are requested to continue to sponsor their student’s education annually through the completion of their university program.

Monthly Donation Support - $125/month: By choosing this option, sponsors can contribute $125 each month as a recurring donation to provide a full scholarship for one student for an entire year. Sponsors are kindly requested to continue their support throughout the student’s university journey, which typically spans four consecutive years. This flexible giving plan allows donors to make a meaningful impact without requiring a large one-time payment. Each month, sponsors will receive a tax receipt and be part of changing a young person’s life through education.

A Special Opportunity to

Double Your Impact!

We’re excited to offer an incredible opportunity to double the impact of your generosity this year! Thanks to two generous sponsors, every donation you make to support our scholarship students will be matched dollar-for-dollar with a $20,000 matching fund, doubling the support you provide!

If you sign up to sponsor between April and June 2025, your full contribution will be matched, maximizing the support for your student. While sponsoring a student still requires a four-year commitment, the matched funds will go directly toward their needs such as emergency assistance, mentoring, and essential materials for specialized courses like Engineering, IT, and Nursing.
