Galentine's Day Spa Therapy

Galentine's Day Spa Therapy.jpg

This month, Chrysalis House celebrated sisterhood, self-care, and healing with a special Galentine’s Day Spa Therapy event for the incredible women in our program.

Clients enjoyed an afternoon of sweet treats and relaxation, complete with warm cucumber towels, soothing facial masks, and nourishing foot treatments.

Each woman received her own makeup bag and selected brand-new cosmetic items, including nail products, lip colors, eye makeup, blush, foundation, and more, generously donated by Mary Kay. Experiences like these help rebuild confidence, restore a sense of joy, and remind every woman that she is worthy of care, dignity, and celebration. We are deeply grateful to our supporters and community partners whose generosity makes meaningful moments like this possible.

Come Celebrate & Empower Women Together

Thank You, St. Peter's United Methodist Church

We are incredibly grateful to St. Peter’s United Methodist Church – United Women in Faith for their generous donation to Chrysalis House. Their thoughtful gifts, including pillows, baby items, hygiene products, and other essential supplies, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the women and children we serve.

These contributions provide more than just practical support; they offer comfort, dignity, and reassurance during times of transition and healing. We are thankful for community partners like United Women in Faith whose generosity help create a safe and nurturing environment for the women and children in our care.

Leadership Anne Arundel

Chrysalis House was pleased to welcome members of the Leadership Anne Arundel (LAA) Flagship Class as part of their Health & Human Services Day. During their visit, the class explored an important question: What does it take to build and sustain a thriving, inclusive community in Anne Arundel County, and how can we lead and collaborate to make that vision a reality?

We had the opportunity to share more about our mission, the women and families we serve, and the critical role collaboration plays in creating lasting change. Meaningful progress happens when organizations, leaders, and community partners come together with a shared vision and a commitment to equity and opportunity for all. Chrysalis House was grateful for the chance to connect with leaders who are passionate about strengthening Anne Arundel County and look forward to continued partnership in building a healthier, more inclusive community.

The Healing Power of Horses

This month, Chrysalis House clients will begin their first HEAL (Horses for Emotional Awareness and Learning) sessions of the year in partnership with Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR). After meaningful Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy sessions last fall, we are excited to continue this impactful collaboration. This was made possible thanks to the generous support of the

Giese Foundation.

Horses have a unique ability to mirror human emotions and respond authentically to nonverbal cues, offering immediate, honest feedback in a safe and supportive environment. Working alongside these powerful yet gentle animals can help clients strengthen emotional awareness, build trust, develop healthy boundaries, and increase confidence. Chrysalis House is grateful for the opportunity to continue expanding access to innovative therapeutic experiences that support healing and long-term recovery.
