Relive the Moments: 2026 Celebration Breakfast Photos & Video
Thank you for celebrating with YWCA Delaware at our 2026 Celebration Breakfast! Our photo album and event video are now available to view and share.
Inspired by this year’s theme, Generation to Generation, Empowering Every Story, we were reminded that the stories we share today can shape the lives of our children and grandchildren for generations to come.
As Community Champions, you help make these stories possible. Through your support, YWCA Delaware walks alongside thousands of women and families each year, helping them build safer futures, access opportunities and create lasting legacies.
We invite you to revisit your favorite moments and share them with others. Let your friends, family and colleagues know why you support YWCA Delaware and our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
Thank you for being part of our story. We look forward to sharing more stories of courage, hope and lasting change with you in the months ahead.

New Delaware Laws Strengthen Protections for Survivors
As we recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re reminded that domestic violence is not a rare or isolated problem in Delaware. In 2024, 22,835 domestic violence incidents were reported, with 22.7% involving physical injury. In 2025, YWCA Delaware answered more than 6,500 crisis helpline calls, connecting survivors with support when they needed it most.
Legal protections are essential to helping survivors find safety, support and justice. That's why we’re proud to recognize five bills (HB 122, HB 213, HB 342, HB 421, and HB 355) sponsored by Sen. Nicole Poore, Rep. Griffith and Rep. Morrison, and supported by the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, of which YWCA Delaware is a member, that were recently signed into law.
Through our community engagement and advocacy efforts, YWCA Delaware helped advance these protections, which strengthen confidentiality between survivors and victim advocates, expand access to legal protections, close gaps in firearm restrictions, and help protect survivors from retaliatory lawsuits. These new laws reflect the importance of advocacy in creating safer pathways for survivors to seek support and protection.

Help Us Create a Little Halloween Magic
This year, YWCA Delaware is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat for children in our community housing program. For families navigating financial uncertainty and the challenges of starting over, something as simple as a Halloween costume or an evening of trick-or-treating can feel out of reach.
We want every child to have the chance to experience the fun and excitement of Halloween. We're planning an evening filled with treats, laughter and happy memories for the families we serve, and we need your help to make it happen!
Join us on Thursday, October 29, at 5 p.m. in the back parking lot of our Home-Life Management Center. Volunteers can participate by decorating their vehicles and handing out treats. To get involved, please get in touch with Valerie Edwards at vaedwards@ywcade.org by October 26, 2026.
Can't make it on October 29? You can still get into the Halloween spirit! YWCA Delaware's Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC) will be sharing resources and reminding survivors that help is always available and no one has to navigate difficult circumstances alone at the following trunk-or-treat events:
-
Wednesday, October 28, 6 to 8 p.m. | Route 9 Library Trunk-or-Treat
-
