Empowering recovery during Brain Injury Awareness Month

CFI recognizes Brain Injury Awareness Month and is dedicated to supporting persons impacted by traumatic brain injuries through our Brain Health Day Program.

CFIs comprehensive Brain Health Day Program supports individuals with neurological conditions to regain independence at home, work, and in the community.

As we observe Brain Injury Awareness Month, we recognize the critical role integration and inclusion plays in the inspiring recoveries made possible through engagement with supportive community partners.

Ten years after aneurysm, Brain Health participant is thriving

It was 10 years ago on Valentine’s Day that Terri, a Brain Health participant at CFI, suffered a brain aneurysm. She’s the symbol of a miracle.

According to Cleveland Clinic, "About 25% of people who experience a brain aneurysm rupture die within 24 hours. Around 50% of people die within three months of the rupture due to complications. Of those who survive, about 66% experience permanent brain damage."

Today, Terri is thriving through Brain Health programming. She is excited to still be around and is grateful for the progress she’s made.

Urban Milwaukee gets inside look at Concordia 27 kitchen

We were excited to have Urban Milwaukee's Sophie Bolich visit the Concordia 27 Kitchen this past month.

As of her visit, the kitchen produces 9,000 healthy meals per day for Milwaukee school children - production is expected to ramp up to 12,000 meals this March.

CFI is grateful for its community partners and sharers of the space - Near West Side Partners and Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee, for their commitment to our community. We also thank the countless donors that made the Concordia 27 Project possible.
