Encinitas Ranch Aloha Ball Results

Notice: Before we dive into our Aloha Ball results, we want to clarify our last results Eblast. Due to an inadvertent error, the Pala Mesa results Eblast was published with the wrong subject line. The email did indeed cover the Pala Mesa event, with the correct content in the body of the Eblast. On July 19th, we had 56 golfers join us on a beautiful summer day at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course for our annual Aloha Ball team event. Everyone came decked out in their colorful Hawaiian attire, check out our photo gallery below.

This year we introduced a new format. In teams of foursomes, each player played their own ball. Scoring was on a Net basis. On Par 3's and Par 4's, the 2 better balls of the foursome counted for the team hole score. On Par 5's, the 3 better balls counted for the hole score. Lowest Net team score wins! We had enough teams for 2 Flights, thanks to everyone who registered for this fun event.

The infamous "Aloha Ball" also made its return. Each player in the foursome rotated playing the Aloha Ball on each side. The goal is to hold onto the ball until the end of the round. Teams were rewarded by a team score improvement of 2 strokes if the Aloha Ball was returned, but penalized 2 strokes if it was sadly lost during the round.

Following golf, we had a 19th Hole "luau" to unwind, celebrate winners, and reminisce about Aloha Balls gone missing.

Flight 1:

1^st Place, with a low net of -18 plus maintaining the Aloha Ball to get to a -20: Taylor Coleman, Agueda Sanchez, Suzanne LaTour, and Bethany Selan.

2^nd Place, with a low net of -14 and losing the Aloha Ball to get a -12: Stacey Hayashi, Cindy Mason, Dina Mauger, and Ashley Stone.

Flight 2:

1^st Place, with a low net of -19 losing the Aloha Ball to get a -17: Pam Pongratz, Heather Conine, Janice Hall, and Suzanne Rogers.

2^nd Place, with a low net of -14 losing the Aloha Ball to get a -12: Lois Spence, Denise Nelesen, Gretchen Taylor, and Marie Horn.

Players Cup Event Results

Since the Aloha Ball allowed our golfers play their own ball, this event counted towards Players Cup. The below graphic shows Top 3 scorers in Gross and Net from Encinitas Ranch.

Please note, we had some issues with Players Cup calculations. It's taken some time to go back and correct them all and carry the cumulative effect forward to current events.

PC Cup tracking involves quite a bit of manual work. Golf Genius cannot do it all. It can be quite tedious, so mistakes were made, but NOW we are good to go! Thank you to those who let us know things were not quite right. It takes a village!!!
