Encinitas Celebrates the 4th of July

The City of Encinitas wishes everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July as we celebrate our nation's independence and commemorate America's 250th anniversary.

This historic milestone is an opportunity to reflect, enjoy time with family and friends, and celebrate the spirit of community that makes Encinitas such a special place.

As you enjoy the holiday festivities, please remember that all fireworks are illegal in Encinitas. Help keep our community safe by leaving fireworks to the professionals and attending a public fireworks display. The use or possession of fireworks is a misdemeanor and may result in fines of up to $1,000, imprisonment, or both.

Thank you for helping protect our neighborhoods from fires and injuries so everyone can enjoy a safe and memorable Independence Day.

Moonlight Beach Concerts

Sun, Sand & Afrobeat Sounds Kick Off the Season!

The Moonlight Beach Concerts launches its first show with a vibrant celebration of rhythm, movement, and summer energy on the sand. This opening concert brings together high-voltage live performance and community spirit for an unforgettable afternoon by the ocean.

Mitchum Yacoub

Kick off the series with the explosive sound of San Diego-based multi-instrumentalist Mitchum Yacoub. Blending Afrobeat, soul, funk, and Latin-inspired rhythms, Yacoub delivers a live experience built for dancing feet and oceanfront energy. Drawing inspiration from legends like Fela Kuti and James Brown, his performances are driven by powerful grooves, bold horn arrangements, and infectious percussion that transform the beach into a full-scale rhythm celebration.

Kicking off the afternoon is the emerging talent selected through the 91X Loudspeaker Competition—bringing fresh sound, new energy, and a spotlight on the next wave of local music.

Traffic Signal Improvements

Traffic signal improvements were completed Sunday night at the Chesterfield Drive and San Elijo Avenue/Coast Highway 101 intersection.

The changes are designed to improve traffic flow by giving northbound San Elijo Avenue drivers more opportunities to turn left safely and adding a dedicated right-turn signal for westbound Chesterfield Drive traffic.

Tramonto Music Festival Returns July 17–19

Tramonto Music Festival is almost here, and we invite you to join us for a memorable weekend of exceptional live music at the Encinitas Library.

Presented by the City of Encinitas and under the artistic direction of internationally acclaimed pianist Jacopo Giacopuzzi, Tramonto Music Festival brings together an outstanding roster of award-winning musicians from around the world for three inspiring performances. Set against the backdrop of summer in Encinitas, the festival offers an intimate concert experience where every seat is close to the music.

The 2026 season features an exceptional roster of artists from around the world, including pianists Jacopo Giacopuzzi and Alvise Pascucci, flutist Tommaso Benciolini, violinist Jessica Guideri, cellist Allan Hon, bassist Angelica Gasperetti, and drummer Liam Wallace.

Connect with Your Local Sheriff's Office

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office North Coastal Station invites community members to participate in two upcoming events in Encinitas focused on building connections and promoting public safety.

On July 15, residents can meet local deputies and learn about crime prevention resources during Ice Cream with a Deputy at Cali Cream Homemade Ice Cream.

Then, on July 18, the Sheriff’s Office will host a Gun Safety Event at Encinitas City Hall, offering free gun locks while supplies last and a safe opportunity for residents to turn in unwanted firearms.

These events provide valuable opportunities to engage with local law enforcement, access safety resources, and support a safer community for all.
