| | Native Plant Ordinance- Public Workshop 2 | | |
Join us for the second Native Plant Ordinance (NPO) Public Workshop, hosted in partnership by the City of Encinitas and SWCA Environmental Consultants.
Date: Monday, June 23, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Encinitas City Hall, Poinsettia Room, 505 South Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024
This workshop is an opportunity for community members to:
- Review and provide feedback on the draft ordinance
- Discuss possible incentive programs for converting non-native landscapes
We welcome your participation and input! The draft ordinance will be available prior to the meeting on the project website.

| | San Dieguito Water District Waterline Looping Project Update | | |
Construction crews begun pipeline construction in Cardiff this week near Cambridge Avenue and Norfolk Avenue. This project will extend the water system to increase reliability and fire flow.
Duration: Monday, June 16, 2025 – Friday, August 8, 2025
Time: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Cambridge Avenue from Norfolk Avenue to Dublin Drive and on Norfolk Avenue at Cambridge Ave.
What to Expect:
- Partial lane closures and minor traffic delays are expected.
- Street parking will be affected.
- Possible water in streets/gutters during maintenance.
- Possible water service to be interrupted between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. If this occurs, SDWD will notify all potentially affected customers with a minimum 1-week notice, with a second notice being issued 48-hours in advance of the service interruption.

| | Pedal Smarter, Ride Safer: Sign Up for Encinitas Bike/E-Bike Safety Classes! | | |
With so many people getting around on bikes and ebikes, it's more important than ever for all riders to be equipped with the knowledge and skills for safe and confident journeys. That's why the City of Encinitas, in partnership with the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, offers monthly Bike/E-Bike "Community Cycling" Skills Classes for teens and adults!
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist looking to brush up on your road rules, an e-bike enthusiast wanting to understand the nuances of your ride, or a teen new to navigating our city streets on two wheels, these comprehensive 3-hour classes are designed for you.
What You'll Learn:
- Rules of the Road: Understand traffic laws, signaling, and your rights and responsibilities as a cyclist.
- Best Practices: Learn effective riding techniques, where to ride, and how to position yourself safely.
- Emergency Maneuvers: Practice crucial skills to react to unexpected situations on the road.
- E-Bike Specifics: Get clarity on e-bike classifications, legal requirements, and safe operation.
Each class is broken into three engaging parts: a lecture to cover essential information, skills drills to practice techniques in a safe environment, and a guided road ride to apply your new knowledge in real-world scenarios.
Important Notes:
- Bring your own bike/e-bike: Please come with the bicycle or e-bike you regularly ride, ensuring it's in good working order (check chain, brakes, and tire pressure!).
- Helmet Required: A properly fitted helmet is mandatory for all participants.
- Some cycling experience is necessary: This is not a "learn-to-ride" class.
- Parental Involvement: For participants under 16, parent registration and participation are strongly encouraged. For those 12 and under, parent registration and participation are required.

The season concludes with a program of increasing musicians and grandeur. The concert begins with de Berio’s Duo Concertante, followed by Mozart’s String Quartet in C Major, K. 465 “Dissonance,” and concludes with Tchaikovsky’s powerful Sextet for Strings “Souvenir de Florence.”
