Starts this Monday, January 7th, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Eight sessions over four weeks--Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
   
What is self-employment anyway? It's more than what it used to be and not what you might think!
   
By the end of this program series you will understand everything you need to know about how to be successful as an independent worker.
   
Required resource: The Freelancer's Bible, by Sara Horowitz
CostThis program is available to members at no additional fee except for the cost of the book (about $10).
 
Consultative Selling Skills Workshop
Friday, January 25th, 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m.
   
This 1/2 day overview course is designed to provide you with the skills necessary to establish trust, define needs, create a partnership approach and close the sale.  The course will provide structure, process and content of the 4 key elements of the selling process so that you increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your business development efforts.

* Keep in mind , you can continue looking for a regular job while you're exploring the option of working independently. In fact, this is one of the best side-door strategies for Encores to gain entry into traditional employment. Though once you get started working for yourself, you may not want to go back to the way it was--working for someone else!

This year-long adventure will  teach you the skills of blogging and associated social media;  help you to clarify your area of expertise and build your brand in the marketplace;  give you real time feedback from your target market;  teach you how to use blogging as a revenue channel;  teach you how to write a book; and, esta blish you as a published author.

Up your game and stand out from others in your field with more professional approaches with your clients. And, protect yourself from costly mistakes. 
   
Format : This is an ongoing brain-trust group made up of those who have prioritized self-employment as their primary revenue stream. Members of this group will study more advanced materials and consult to each other around specific issues they encounter in their freelancing practices.

Round-Robin Success Team Format
   
Each participant gets 20 minutes to: 
  • describe their progress
  • share obstacles in their path
  • get feedback from others
  • make commitments for the coming week

The Monday Morning Career Transition Speaker Series (8:00-9:15 a.m.) is open to non-members. We request a $5.00 free-will donation from non-member attendees, paid at the door.
   
Access to the full programming schedule is available to members at a $40/month fee. Members may need to purchase books for some programs and pay additional fees for advanced programs.
