Serving and equipping our churches to fulfill the Great Commission.
Announcing the 2021 SYBA Fair Ministry!
The SYBA Fair Ministry is scheduled for 2021!

The Iredell County Fair will open on Friday, September 3rd, but many of the traveling fair workers will arrive in town early to set up the rides and games, so we want to begin this ministry prior to their busy opening day.

Here’s the proposed schedule:

Wednesday and Thursday, September 1st and 2nd: Meal served at 6:30 p.m. Hygiene Bags and Laundry Baskets will be given.

Friday—Saturday, September 3rd—September 11th: Meal served at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday, September 9th: Free Haircuts 12:00 noon—2:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 11th: Snack meal bags given during lunch time meal

This ministry is a great opportunity for our SYBA church members to show Jesus’ love and share God’s Message to the traveling fair workers! Get involved!

Items for the individual hygiene bags and laundry baskets need to be delivered to the SYBA office no later than Monday, August 23rd to allow time for them to be prepared.

Please contact Mary Jane Hoover at 704 873-4372, ext. 3 or mhoover@sybaptist.org for additional information or to commit to providing and serving a meal or donating a hygiene bag item (body wash, wash cloth, deodorant, shampoo, shaving gel, razors, lotion, hand sanitizers, small tissues) or laundry basket item (11-12 oz. size detergent pods, 30-50 per box size dryer sheets, $10.00 quarters).

Most children walk 1.5 miles one way to school. Harmony International Mission Planning Outreach Cookout
On Saturday June 12th Harmony International Mission is planning a drive through cookout for the community of Harmony in their parking lot (the old Northside Baptist Church location at 3295 Harmony Hwy) to reach those who are hungry and who may not currently attend church.

Last year, they were able to bless and serve about 800 plates - thanks to God’s provision through the support of local businesses, churches and volunteers.

Please join them this year (Sunday Schools, Youth groups, Mission groups, etc) to serve in:
  • Cooking
  • Evangelism door to door (we will invite people to the community cookout)
  • Packing TO-GO food boxes
  • Serving food
  • Prayer and information tent (we need prayer warriors and information of the upcoming events of your congregations)
  • Security and Traffic

They also need donations of water bottles, To-Go boxes, napkins, aluminum foil, plastic silverware, canned veggies, etc.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Pastor Jeff Seipel at 704 880-4991.

Sign Up to Be an Interim Worship Leader or Fill-in Musician
A note from Kenny Lamm
Churches across NC need people to fill in (and permanent part-time) worship leadership and musician roles, whether for just a week at a time or for several months. Unfortunately, available people are hard to find, so we are launching a database for people who are willing to fill a temporary role in a church.

Our database will only be able to serve our churches if you can help us find qualified people to sign up. Please pass this along to people you know are able to serve in this way.

Baptists on Mission invites all men to a one-day equipping conference designed to help men develop a closer walk with Christ. You will enjoy challenging messages from two keynote speakers, Rex Tignor – nationally known men’s ministry advocate, and Tom Joyce – pastor, retired Navy captain, and survivor of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon. The IHM Conference will include 16 breakout sessions led by men’s leaders from organizations such as Man in the Mirror, Family Life, Every Man a Warrior, Just Stand Firm, Iron Sharpens Iron, and others!. Topics will include fatherhood, marriage, anger management, making Godly life choices, leadership, discipling men, grand-fatherhood, mentoring young men, missions involvement, accountability, and more! The conference will also feature a special time of prayer and remembrance for those we lost during the 9/11 attack on our country on the 20 year anniversary of that tragic day.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to Serve & Equip Our Churches to Fulfill the Great Commission.

Our Vision
Our vision is to serve our South Yadkin Baptist Association churches so they fulfill the Great Commission. We aspire to design services and tools specific to their needs to equip them to serve Christ effectively, fulfill their calling to disciple and reach those unchurched in our community. We aspire to bring value to our churches and help them to be a do all that God has called of them for His kingdom.

Our Values
Our five values of the South Yadkin Baptist Association define the way we do ministry together as a network of churches. The drive behind our values is a solid faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to fulfill our calling to serve, equip, encourage and care for our churches, pastors and their staff.

Partner in Prayer
We encourage and pray for our pastors, churches and unchurched friends through planned events and systems to pray corporately, in small groups and through our prayer network.

Encourage Pastors
We appreciate our pastors and will give care, personal visits and consistent contact with associational leaders to affirm their ministry in the local church.

Do More Together
We engage our churches in relationship with each other to network on initiatives to build the body of Christ and proclaim the name of Christ in our community and wherever God leads.

Help Fulfill Ministry Needs
We help, provide and assist churches with resources to fulfill their mission and help them minister to needs.

Mobilize to Share Christ's Love
We mobilize churches to share the gospel with unchurched friends in our community, some of whom will accept Christ as Savior.
