Encouragement and Opportunity in Honduras

Greetings Ministry Partners,

This month, I especially ask for your prayers as Sandra and I travel to Roatan, Honduras, June 16-22, for the annual Roatan Bible Conference. Eleven Honduran Baptist churches on the island are coming together for this event, with an expected attendance of 400 to 450 people.

I will be preaching at a preconference rally on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, followed by seven messages throughout the conference weekend. Sandra will also lead a Women's Conference on Saturday. Please pray that the Lord will speak clearly through us, encourage believers, and be magnified in every gathering.

I also ask for prayer as we meet with 11 pastors and ministry partners to share CCI's vision and curriculum. Most pastors on the island have not received formal Bible training. Please pray that God would open hearts to begin training classes that will equip pastors and leaders to faithfully teach God's Word and disciple others in their churches.

One of our key ministry partners in Roatan is Pastor Javier Sanchez, whom I first met during our visit to the island in February 2025. It has been a joy to see the work God is doing through Pastor Javier and his family, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside them again.

Guatemala

Good things are happening in Guatemala. Pastor Hugo Lopez, a CCI graduate, has started his second class in Chiquimula. This is amazing, since we did not have any classes in eastern Guatemala until September of last year. Pastor Hugo must travel a pretty long way to get to these classes, but he is committed to getting this work going so these students can graduate and begin multiplying the work in that area.

Please pray for all our staff and partners in Guatemala this time of year, as summer is when so many mission teams from the U.S. travel there. They are highly involved in hosting these teams or serving as interpreters. This is the time of year when many of them make a large percentage of their annual income.

Prayer Requests & Praises

Please join us in prayer for the following:

Praise God for the new class Pastor Hugo Lopez recently started in Chiquimula, Honduras. Pray for continued growth as his first class studies Book #2 and for strength and safety as Pastor Hugo travels weekly to teach.
Pray for Ray and Sandra as they lead a five-day Bible Conference in Roatan, Honduras, this June. Ask the Lord to provide strength, wisdom, and meaningful opportunities to encourage pastors and church leaders. Pray that the eleven pastors involved in the conference will be receptive to beginning biblical training classes on the island.
Pray for Pastor Joel in Belize as he continues training leaders and planting churches in the southern part of the country. Ask God to give him wisdom, strength, and fruitful ministry opportunities.
Pray for opportunities for new classes to begin in Costa Rica and for God to continue opening ministry opportunities throughout Central America.
Pray for Marlen, the wife of Pastor Jorge Xicara (Shi-ca-rah), as she battles advanced cancer. Ask the Lord to provide comfort, strength, peace, and encouragement for their family during this difficult season.
Pray for Pastor Benedicto as he continues to grieve the loss of his wife, who passed away in March. Ask the Lord to strengthen and comfort him.
Pray for Charlotte as she recovers from surgery to repair a deviated septum after her fall. Pray for healing and a smooth recovery.
