Encouraging Entrepreneurship
I teamed up with Millennial Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Credit Unions to launch the state's first Lt. Governor's Entrepreneurship Challenge, a business pitch competition that encourages entrepreneurial-minded high school students to compete for thousands of dollars in scholarships!

Through this program, students have the chance to win a share of $9,000 in scholarship funds. The deadline to apply for the Lt. Governor's Entrepreneurship Challenge is May 25th.
Connecting Communities with Tools to Fight the Opioid Epidemic
We must ensure our communities have the necessary resources to battle the opioid epidemic and support the individuals and families struggling with addiction. As lieutenant governor and a former municipal leader, I am determined to do everything in my power to stop this epidemic from further destroying the lives of the people of Rhode Island.

Thank you to everyone who joined me at the first municipal forum on opioid addiction. I'm looking forward to continuing to connect our cities and towns with resources that can help them fight addiction in our communities.
Supporting Rhode Islanders Struggling with Alzheimers'
My office secured $30,000 in grants to update the state’s five-year plan on addressing Alzheimer’s Disease. A big thank you to Tufts Health Plan Foundation, Rhode Island Foundation and Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter for supporting our mission to reshape Rhode Island policy and assist our state's families and caregivers.

Our State Plan will be an invaluable tool for local leaders, researchers, physicians, advocates and families as we work together to build momentum in the fight against Alzheimer’s. It's time to get the work done!
