Circle Craft Gallery Update
Dear Members,
You might have noticed that it has been a very significant month for our Cooperative in terms of personnel changes, and for this reason I would like bring everyone up to date on the latest staff transitions:
Welcomes
- We are delighted to announce that Afuwa Granger has accepted the position of Circle Craft Co-op Manager. Afuwa’s role as Co-op Manager will include both retail management and administrative tasks - encompassing both Cathy Church and Andrea Sanders’ past responsibilities. While this new role will undoubtedly pose a significant challenge, Afuwa comes to us with a wide range of skills, talents, training, and experience which will stand her in good stead. Afuwa is a visual artist who also holds a diploma in accounting from BCIT, has four years’ experience in financial planning and budget management, and over a decade of involvement in Vancouver non-profit organizations (arts, social services, artist run galleries, and other creative sectors).
- We are also very pleased to extend a warm welcome to Bill Sulis who has accepted the position of Circle Craft bookkeeper. Bill is a Certified General Accountant who brings with him a wealth of experience in accounting and financial management, some of which he gained during his 35 year career with the CRA as an auditor, team leader, manager and program advisor.
Farewells
It is with regret that we will be saying goodbye to two valued employees in the near future, who together formed a dynamic team:
- Andrea Sanders’ last day is August 28th, 2020 and we would like to take this opportunity to both thank her for her hard work on behalf of the Cooperative, and wish her much future success and happiness. The Board, in particular, has appreciated her efficiency and competence and will miss being able to rely on her depth of Co-op knowledge.
- Rossanne Clamp’s last day will be September 17th, 2020 and we would like to take this opportunity to both thank her for her hard work on behalf of the Cooperative, and wish her much success in her future endeavors. After first working alongside Paul Yard for several years, Rossanne stepped seamlessly into the role of Show Producer and proved herself to be incredibly adept at managing the myriad aspects of our highly-esteemed Christmas Market.
In addition, I would like to encourage everyone at Circle Craft to remember to show all of our staff (those staying, joining, or departing) just how much they are valued through ensuring that all of our interactions with them are respectful, affirming and uplifting.
