January comes with many changes. 2019 brings with it an updated fee schedule. You will notices changes in the permitting structure as well as changes to fees in the 2019 Fee Schedule approved by the Clark County Board of Health and passed by the Clark County Council as part of the County 2019-2020 budget.
Most notably, more establishment permits are based on menu and preparation complexity instead of by establishment type.
- Departments within grocery & convenience stores, such as bakeries or delis, will now be permitted based on menu and preparation complexity level. For example, a deli that prepares fried chicken from a raw product will be a Level 3 but a deli that reheats pre-cooked chicken strips for hot-holding will be a Level 2.
- Espresso/Other Beverage is no longer a category. Most of these establishments will now be permitted as a Level 1.
- Seasonal Permit is not a category on this year’s fee schedule. 2018 Season Permit holders impacted by this change will be contacted via mail with more information.
Plan-review fees for remodel and modifications will now be based on menu and preparation complexity.
A variance review fee is now available and may be assessed when a food service establishment requires a variance.
