Greetings From The School President
Hello Wonderful Families,

Last week, while on vacation out of the country, I was consistently mindful of many things. First, we are so lucky to have our wonderful school and community as many countries don’t have such opportunities. I toured many schools and found none to be as fortunate as ours. Second, I discovered I was homesick for all of you. Funny, that even at an older age, one can miss home. I missed the faces of our children, the sound of their laughter and expressions of discovery. I missed the smiles and casual, sweet interactions I have with all of you every day. We have a wonderful ‘World’ and I don’t ever want to take that for granted. Thank you all for being a special part of my daily experience. My life is so much richer for you and your family being in it!!

Also, Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating!

Best,
Kathy

2019 RE-REGISTRATION NOTE
Information Regarding Re-Registration For The 2019-2020 School Year
As we unveil the next phase of our RenWeb/FACTS system, our re-registration will be taking place ONLINE, making it easier for families to complete. This process is something that many families have been asking for, and we are excited to be moving our systems and processes into the 21st century. We are currently working behind the scenes with RenWeb/FACTS to get the registration portal ready to launch the second week of February. Going digital will streamline the process, allowing us to shorten the re-registration period to two weeks. More details to follow in the next few weeks.
To our ECE families in preparation for re-registration...

Our K-8 families already have access to ParentsWeb via the internet or RenWeb app. RenWeb’s ParentsWeb is a private and secure parents’ portal that allows parents to view information specific to their child, while protecting their child’s information from others. Using this portal, parents may view the school calendar, school announcements, teacher email addresses, class information, as well as other useful school information.

We will be using RenWeb for re-registration, which requires parents to create an account.

Here’s how to access our easy-to-use RenWeb ParentsWeb:
  • Make sure that the school has your email address in RenWeb
  • In your web browser, go to www.renweb.com and click “Logins”
  • Type the school’s District Code: wa-nh
  • Click “Create New ParentsWeb Account”.
  • Type your email address and click “Create Account”. An email will be sent which includes a link to create your ParentsWeb login. The link is active for 6 hours.
  • Select the “Click to Create your ParentsWeb Login” link.
  • A web browser displays your Name and RenWeb Person ID.
  • Type a User Name, Password, and Confirm the password.
  • Click “Save User Name and/or Password”. A message displays at the top of the browser, “Username/Password successfully updated.” You may now log in to ParentsWeb using your new Username and Password.

The RenWeb/FACTS app is available via the Apple App Store or Google Play for download. We are always available to help if you need it! Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
Uniform Store
Our online uniform store is open and has many new items that will become part of our Middle School Uniform Policy for the 2019-2020 school year. Students have been asking for our plaid skirt and comfortable gym uniforms and these items are now available for purchase for any students who would like to incorporate them into their wardrobe this year before they become required next year. Click here for a guide to our Middle School Uniform Policy for 2019-2020 and click here to visit the Red Brick Uniform Store.
Reminders, Thank Yous & Good Luck!
Inclement Weather Reminder
Now that the inclement weather of winter has arrived, we want to remind families that since we do not have bus riders or walkers, we will typically hold school without a delay. We recognize that we have families traveling from various locations, and we want to reiterate that it is always up to parents' discretion on whether or not to delay or suspend travel to school. We want to assure our parents and students that we will always excuse a late arrival or absence due to weather, and it will not be counted against attendance records. Similarly to absences due to illness, our teachers will work closely with students to help them with any missed instruction or curriculum.
Just want to send a special thank you to those teachers who work the pick up/drop off lines in the morning and afternoons to facilitate these activities for our families. We know that it is COLD, and we thank you for your smiles and positive attitudes!!!
Best of luck to Mrs. Sankar and our Middle School Math Team members Perry Mourtzinos, Ayush Chakraborty, Hrushikesh Sankar, and Sami Witta who will represent World Academy at the Regional MathCounts Competition on February 2nd at UNH, Durham, NH. Best wishes also go out to Sudarshan Prasanna, Duran Jauregui Morris and Elaine Zhan will also compete as individuals representing World Academy.
Many thanks to Jess Parnagian and Erin Sweeney for representing our “World” at the Early Childhood Fair in Nashua this past Sunday!!! Thank you, Ladies!!
Penny Challenge Update
Congratulations to the Third Grade (K-3 challenge) and Eighth Grade (4-8 challenge) on winning the Penny Challenge! Thank you to everyone who participated in this fundraising challenge for the Eighth Grade class trip to Washington, D.C.!
From The PTO- The Box Tops Competition Returns!
Help the PTO raise money for fun programs and activities for our whole school community by clipping and submitting Box Tops! We have a goal of raising $1,000 this year and we can do it with your help!

Check out the full list of participating products by clicking here. Collect your Tops in a clear plastic bag (be sure the Tops are not expired) and write your child’s name, grade, and teacher’s name on the bag. One submission per family is fine—just include all students’ info. Bring the Tops into school and drop them in a Box Tops collection box found near the Front Desk, in the Elementary hallway or in the Middle School entry area. You can also collect Tops on a collection sheet like the one here.

Our next competition is around the corner and the winning classroom wins a prize for the highest percent of participating students. Please start collecting now for the upcoming deadline of Friday, February 15

For more information, please contact Karen Bradshaw at [email protected]. Thank you, in advance, for your participation!

Basketball Update
Our NorthStars Basketball Teams both won big this week to make it to the Championship Games this Saturday!!!! The Girls beat Litchfield on Monday, and then had an incredibly narrow win over Nashua Catholic yesterday. Our Boys beat Sanborn on Monday and an upset against Weare yesterday! We couldn't be more proud!! PLEASE join us in Epping this weekend to cheer on both the NorthStar teams!! The Girls play at 12:00pm and the Boys follow at 2:30pm, both at Epping High School!
GOOOO, NORTHSTARS!!!
Seen Around Our 'World'
We love to know what our students and families are up to outside of school! If you have something you would like to share, please don't hesitate to share it with us! Click here to email us your photos with details for us to post! We especially love to hear (and brag!) about student accomplishments outside of school! We love sharing ALL about each of our students!
The Preschool Threes Ladybugs are enjoying their new table and chair set!
Our Patriots fans in Miss Darcy and Miss Kim's Preschool Fours are ready for the Super Bowl this weekend! We also had three Preschool Fours students, Alex, Callie and Jackson, re-create their picture from 2015 (when they were in the Infant Room!) when the Patriots beat the Seahawks for Super Bowl XLIX!
This week, Mrs. Novak’s Third Graders participated in LEGO Robotics class this week! The students collaborated to build and program a variety of robots including a dump truck, and a sensor activated Spybot.
Our Non-Ski students had a great time rock climbing this Tuesday, followed by team building, where the students played "knots of people". Teams joined hands with people across their circle, resulting in a "knot". The goal was to "untie" themselves and get back to the circle without letting go of any hands!
The Trekking Group played the game "Number Loops" after their hike on Tuesday. Teams raced to connect numbers one to sixty. They participated in four rounds with a hint in each round to help them get to a higher number.
The Non-Ski students also participated in an Art Class with Mrs. Iannone, where they had a blast experimenting with a pendulum painting cup! Combining science and art, the students learned about the forces of motion and gravity, and how the viscosity of the paint effected their design. Students took turns, while others finished their paper star designs!
This week, Miss Bishop's Cooking Around The World elective "traveled" to Mexico and made homemade salsa. Yum!
Winter has arrived and the mountain is GREAT! The students who travel to Pats Peak on Tuesdays have been having a great time learning to ski, snow board, and enjoying each others' company! We love seeing the skill building, camaraderie, and getting our students outdoors!
This week during Robotics, Mrs. Tully's Kindergarteners collaborated in pairs to create structures and hurricane machines!
Miss Hill's Third Grade has been studying changes in matter in science. Over the past few days, the class has done a series of experiments involving mixtures and solutions to see these changes firsthand!
Seventh and Eighth Grade students in the Engineering Design elective were challenged to build a cardboard chair that would hold the weight of an average Middle School student using only cardboard and glue. They have worked so hard and we are so proud of their collaborative efforts!
