Jacket Class with Marian Smith
Marian Jacket

The Northerners are back at Country Quilts and Bears and they are looking for Marian's popular Sweatshirt Class!
Here it is.  If you've made one, come on back and make another.  If you've never made one, come in and have fun making a jacket that you will wear out the door at the end of the second session.
If you are interested, you will need one UNWASHED sweatshirt with set-in sleeves that is one size bigger than you normally would wear (Wal-Mart currently has a large supply of these sweatshirts, so get one before they are gone!).  These sweatshirts are a bit difficult to find, so be on the lookout for yours before class!
There are several jackets to choose from so come into the shop and choose yours today.  She's even added a few new jackets to her repertoire so stop by to see them.  We will then give you the supply list for the one you want to make.

For $30 you can come in on ANY two Thursdays, from 10:00 to 2:00, until the spring.  It takes two sessions to make your jacket.  Sessions begin Thursday, February 4th.

**PLEASE NOTE:  There will not be a jacket class on Thursday, March 17th

Paper Dolls with Susan Freebery

The Paper Dolls
Love that name!
We are c alling all of you quilters who say you can't paper piece!
Susan's method for paper piecing is simple, logical and it WORKS!  Continuing on from her very popular Basic Paper Piecing Class, we are starting a club to explore this technique further.  Each month we will work on a different skill, or project, building on what we have already learned.  Very soon we will be working on some pretty ambitious patterns!  Start looking through all those patterns you have passed by because you thought you couldn't do it...you should pick them up again and hear us tell you that,  "YES you CAN!"

Again, this is a club with a minimal fee - $5 each class to cover the cost of club materials, handouts, etc.

A Note about Paper Dolls:  The intention for this club is that it take the form of a stitch-along rather than a classic class.  Susan will help us get started each session, but then we will be stitching along together and helping each other.

The Paper Dolls will be meeting the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Mod Squad with Susan Freebery
The Mod Squad
The first Saturday of every month The Mod Squad will descend on Country Quilts and Bears.

This is a club for Modern quilt lovers or wannabes!  We will be working through Tula Pink's fantastic book, 100 Modern Quilt Blocks.  You will love this book,  the 6 ½" blocks are sorted by shape, and numbered only - enjoy adding your own name and meaning to the blocks you make.  We will be starting with Block 1 (unless your name is Becky, and then you will be hopping all over the place, all pell-mell helter-skelter) and working our way through the 100 Blocks - making all of them, or just a few.  It's up to you!
Marilyn has generously agreed to minimize the cost for this club - your entrance fee will be as follows:
1st Month that you attend:  Purchase the book, 100 Modern Quilt Blocks
2nd Month onward:  Purchase of any 2 fat quarters you want!  That's it!  No class fees, and who doesn't need a few more fat quarters?
We can't wait and are all busy choosing our fabrics.  What will you come up with?
 Oh - one more thing - you don't have to make these blocks out of modern fabrics!  Oh no!  They are so cute and would be marvelous in any style fabric from repros to seasonal.  Simple piecing, lots of choice - this is a book for beginners and advanced stichers alike.

It's going to be a fun Saturday Sewing club, and a nice chance to hang with other quilters and do something different.  If you can't make it for October, no worries.  You really won't miss anything.  We will see you in November!
~~~~~~
The Mod Squad will meet the first Saturday of the month, except for December, which we had to change due to a conflict with the Christmas Mystery weekend.
Saturday, April 2nd
Saturday, May 7th
Saturday, June 4th
~~~~~~
From 10-2:00
Call today to reserve your book and chair!

A Note about The Mod Squad:  The intention for this club is that it take the form of a stitch-along rather than a classic class.  Susan will help us get started each session, but then we will be stitching along together and helping each other.

Kim Diehl's Whatnot Club with Becky or Linda

Henry Glass Fabrics and Kim Diehl have teamed up to bring you a new club featuring miniature quilts stitched from Kim Diehl's newest fabric line, Gathering Baskets.  Each month you will receive a pattern to complete a miniature quilt.
Starting in October, the group will meet the 2nd Friday or the 2nd Saturday of each month.  Becky Madasz will teach on Fridays, and Linda Zebrowski will teach on Saturdays.
WHAT IS IT?
It's a 6 month program.  Each month club members receive a new pattern of Kim Diehl's that is not yet on the market.
At the club meeting, patterns will be distributed.  Helpful hints will be given by teachers, Becky or Linda.
