ON-CAMPUS UPDATE
End-of-Semester Information | Oct. 30, 2020
Dear resident,

We're quickly approaching the end of the fall semester, which means there's information regarding the upcoming breaks and remote instruction period you need to be aware of.

Due to COVID-19, the university is committed to allowing students who don’t want to return to campus for the two weeks after fall break to complete all of their academic work through a remote instruction format.

It’s important to us at Housing and Dining Services to give residents the same option — to finish the fall semester away from campus, or return and utilize the many student success resources available to them in an environment and setting that matches their fall semester experience to date. We encourage residents to choose the option that best meets their personal and academic needs.

Please carefully read this information about the upcoming remote instruction period and fall and winter breaks, along with the required steps we are asking each resident to complete.

• Your RA will notify you of the specific time options.
• Answer the questions regarding your decisions to stay or leave for fall break and the remote instruction period.
• You can change your remote instruction period decision online until Nov. 15.

• Instructions will be sent to your email with your Remote Instruction Period Decision confirmation.
• Pack everything you might need during your time away, as you won’t have access to your room.
  • Complete your scheduled room inspection with residence hall staff.
• Staff will meet you at your room to complete the inspection and verify all required steps are completed.
  • Turn your room keys in at your residence hall’s front desk.
• Residents who choose NOT to stay in their residence hall during the remote instruction period will turn in their room keys at their residence hall front desk immediately after their room inspection.
• Residents who choose to return for the remote instruction period will keep their room keys.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
  • If you will not be living in the residence halls during the remote instruction period, you must complete allof the required steps to be eligible to receive the pro-rata credit for the remote instruction period.
  • When you leave campus, please take everything you will need. You will not be able to access your room during your time away.
  • If there’s an open space in your room and you are not paying to buy out that space, that area needs to be cleaned and ready for a new roommate in case one is assigned to the room for the spring semester.
We understand there's a lot of information in this email. If you have questions about any of the EOS process, please visit our website or contact us at 785-532-6453 or housing@k-state.edu for assistance.
