FEATURED PLANTS

Victor Crapemyrtle
This crapemyrtle is a dwarf variety with bright red color. Mature sizes reach 3'- 6' tall and 2'- 4' wide. Crapemyrtles love the Oklahoma sun and are drouht tolerant.
Double Knockout Rose
This rose presents a full double bloom that is simply breathtaking. Blooms maintain a continuous show of color from early June to hard frost.
Dwarf Hameln Grass
Attractive grass highlighted by fluffy, buff-colored plumes arching above foliage. Terrific contrast used among shrubs or as a backdrop in a perennial bed. Foliage turns golden-russet in fall.
JUNE MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES
  • You can still plant your container and B&B trees - provide adequate water and use fertilome Fish Emulsion Fertilizer to help prevent transplant shock.
  • Remove all dead branches on established trees.
  • Remain alert for insect damage on flowers, shrubs and trees. Spider mites begin to appear during warm weather months.
  • Be on the look out for bagworms in your trees. It is easier to treat in the early stages with Hi-Yield 55% Malathion, ferti-lome 38 Plus, Catepillar Killer with BT or Spinosad.
  • Apply Copper Fungicide to pine needle disease in mid-June.
  • Mulch around trees and in your flower beds to help with weed prevention, keep your plant's roots cooler and help retain moisture.
  • Fertilize warm season grasses using Marcum's Slow Release 18-6-12 Fertilizer as per April instructions.
  • Brown patch disease and dollar spot disease can first become visible on lawns in mid-May. When detected, apply ferti-lome's Liquid Systemic Fungicide II or ferti-lome F-STOP for optimum disease control.
  • Seeding of warm-season grasses should be completed by the end of June.
  • Post-emergent control of crabgrass and summer annual grasses is best performed when weeds first emerge using ferti-lome's Weed Out with Q. This product kills Crabgrass, Dandelion, Clover, plus 200 other listed weeds.
  • Apply SEDGEHAMMER Turf Herbicide to eliminate yellow and purple nutsedge.
  • See Marcum's watering guidelines for new and established trees.
  • For preventative white grub treatments, apply Hi-Yield Grub Free Zone II in late June to mid-July.
