Hogwarts Express
Thurs. Aug. 1 @ 6:00PM
Grades 6-12 Ages 10+

Your Hogwarts letter has arrived! Experience the magic in an all-immersive experience--including everything from your Hogwarts letter, to your very own Sorting Experience, and creating your own wand.  New wizards will be able to take classes just like in the books and survive their very own  
Escape Room adventure.

Kids Movie Day
Thurs. Aug. 8 @ 3:30PM
Ages 3-10

Join us for a showing of 101 Dalmations! All attendees must be registered, including parents/caregivers. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Registration required.


Family Escape Room
Fri. Aug. 9 @ 1:30PM or 3:00PM
Families - Ages 5+

Limit: 2 Families per a session (maximum 6 people per a family). Age recommendation is 5 and up.
You have 45 minutes to solve all the puzzles and escape the library's challenge room in this whole-family event.

End of Summer Reading BASH!

Sayreville Senior Center

Join us at the Sayreville Senior Center for the end of summer reading party! For all children up to 5th grade who have met the reading requirements of 10 hours. Save your reading log sheet as this is your ticket to enter the End of Summer Reading Bash.  Present your reading log at the door to enter. 
Registration required beginning Aug. 1.



Chalk the Walk & Book Swap
Tues. Aug. 20 @

All Ages

 Spread some positivity and inspiration when you chalk the walk on the grounds of the library. Sidewalk chalk will be provided.

Bring a book, choose a book at the book swap. Books should be clean and new or gently used.
All ages welcome. 


Read Away Fines!
June 26-August 15

Want to lower your child's library card fines this summer? 
All children, ages 2-11, can participate in our Read Away Fines program, facilitated by our Reading Buddies volunteers. Register at the children's desk for an appointment with a volunteer and every 20 minutes your child reads during their appointment, $0.20 is taken off their fines!

This activity uses group registration, not individual registration. 
DIT requires separate registration for each event.
  • Bring some old shirts or light-colored clothing and make it new with    Tie-Dye! 
  • Get messy with paint in a special mural painting event for all ages. This mural, which will be painted on white paper, will be displayed in the children's room all year round! 
  • Make a surprise creation at the Aug. 7 event. Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy!
All children under the age of 5 must be supervised while in the room.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The concept is simple,
the rewards are priceless!
Sign up at the Children's Reference Desk. 
Keep a log of each book you read with your baby, toddler, or preschooler. Earn prizes for every 25 books read and a free book for every 100 books!

Enjoy a family outing with our
MUSEUM PASSES!
Sponsored by the Friends of the Sayreville Public Library.

The Sayreville Public Library circulates museum passes to
Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton,
the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in NYC, and 
the Battleship New Jersey in Camden.

 Pass policies
Passes will be checked out for 2 days (example: check a pass out on Monday and it will be due back on Wednesday). 
 Reservations may be made up to 2 months in advance by speaking with a reference librarian.
