Along with dinner, guests have the opportunity to meet United Way of West Central Connecticut's Community Partners, learn about shared accomplishments, and honor the collective work done to strengthen our communities. Tickets are $75 per person.

EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME: Year Seven of the Walsh Summer Work Experience Program

Walsh Summer Work Experience Students

The seventh year oUnited Way of West Central Connecticut's Walsh Summer Work Experience Program (WSWEP) is on the books!


We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part in this year's program. They gained knowledge in career readiness, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving. By connecting youth with local employers, United Way helps keep our communities thriving.

The WSWEP is funded by Main Street Community Foundation Tim and Mary Walsh Charitable Fund at the Main Street Community Foundation, Farmington Bank Community Foundation, City of Bristol Community Development Block Grant, and the Wally Barnes Fund for Community Leadership Initiatives at the Main Street Community Foundation.

READY FOR A NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Thank you to all who supported United Way of West Central Connecticut's 2024 Adopt-A-Child Back to School Program.


Over 450 students who registered through our partner agencies and schools, received brand-new backpacks and school supplies!


Since 2005, United Way of West Central Connecticut, with the support of AMAZING donors, has provided 10,126 students in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, and Plymouth, with the tools to start the new school year off on the right foot.

If you have enjoyed United Way of West Central Connecticut's annual Fall Wine & Beer Tasting then you will love Seasonal Sips! Worldwide Wine & Spirits of Southington, will pour seasonal samples of wine, beer, and mixed cocktails from some of their favorite vendors for guests to enjoy. Now is the time to dig out those chunky sweaters, flannel shirts, and puffy vests in all the shades of fall-colored leaves for this 21+ event.

Joy of Sharing - Feed the Need Food Drive

Invite your friends, family, co-workers, and community members to join us in helping feed the need in our four towns. This food drive is special because it supports food pantries, shelters, and other organizations dedicated to combating food insecurity in our communities.

Bring some holiday cheer to children and families in our four towns. This new toy drive, for children ages 3 to 14, provides toys to families who need extra support this holiday season. Toys are distributed to area agencies who apply for assistance.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program

Tax season is just around the corner and we are looking for volunteers now! No prior tax filing experience is required - all volunteers will receive IRS training and certification and may start as young as high school.
