Camper's Corner

Summer camp has officially wrapped up and what an incredible season it was! This year, 158 at-risk youth experienced unforgettable adventures: breathtaking hikes and swimming at Aspen Mirror Lake, campfire skits and songs, gooey s’mores, and plenty of late-night cabin talks.

But beyond the fun and food, campers were introduced to the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ, that they are deeply loved, designed with purpose, and never alone. The most exciting part? More than half of our campers professed a new-found faith in Jesus!

None of this would have been possible without YOU—our faithful supporters, volunteers, and prayer warriors. Thank you for making a lasting impact on the lives of these kids!

A Camper's Story

MJ’s Life Forever Changed.....

When Mary Jane (“MJ”) first arrived at Henry’s Place this summer, she was skeptical that God even exists. She had lots of questions and doubts.

Throughout the week, MJ leaned in, listening closely, asking thoughtful questions. By the end of camp, she experienced a life-changing shift: MJ became convinced that God is real and made the decision to trust in Jesus.

One of the very first things she did after returning home was post on social media: “I am a Christian now.” Since then, MJ has continued to boldly share her faith online. Her mom shared with us that both MJ and her brother were deeply impacted by their time at camp.

Stories like MJ’s are why Henry’s Place exists, to give at-risk youth a safe, fun, Christ-centered camp experience that can transform lives for eternity.💚

Margarette “Granny” Walker

For the past seven years, Margarette Walker, affectionately known as “Granny” to our staff and campers, has been a steadfast volunteer at Henry’s Place. Her dedication has been felt in countless ways, from tirelessly serving in the kitchen and faithfully managing the mounds of laundry in the laundry room, to offering the kind of love and encouragement that changes lives.

But above all, Granny is known for the hugs she gives so freely—hugs that make every child feel seen, valued, and special. For many of our campers, those moments of genuine care are life-changing.

We are deeply grateful for Granny’s unwavering service and the heart she pours into Henry’s Place. She is a shining example of love in action, and we thank God for her presence in our family. "We love you Granny!"💚
