Program Highlights:
Camp Bravo! + Outdoor Adventure Camp
During the first and third weeks of July, our Family Connection team was thrilled to host Camp Bravo! , an annual performing and visual arts camp for local homeless children held at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church .

Over two sessions, nearly 300 children from local motels , transitional living sites , and homeless and domestic violence shelters attended Camp Bravo! The annual camp gives children the opportunity to spend time away from the shelter while discovering new talents and exploring the arts . This year's campers enjoyed a wide spectrum of classes, including visual arts , dance , acting , music , cooking , video production and more. Each session of Camp Bravo! concluded with a special circus-themed performance during which campers had the unforgettable experience of singing, dancing and shining onstage alongside children's performing artist Eddie Coker .

Cultural artists for Camp Bravo! were sponsored by the Community Artists Program (CAP) , a program of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. Rainbow Days would also like to recognize Communities Foundation of Texas , the Holloway Family Foundation and the Aegon Transamerica Foundation for their generous financial support of Camp Bravo! Additionally, Rainbow Days cherishes its continued partnership with Lovers Lane United Methodist Church , which graciously hosts Camp Bravo! each year.
Then, a couple weeks later during the first week of August, nearly 200 campers from local shelters, motels and transitional living sites were thrilled to attend Rainbow Days' annual Outdoor Adventure Camp at Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian. At this traditional outdoor camp , the children participated in all sorts of fun summer experiences, including swimming , zip lining , horseback riding , fishing and longhorn feeding !

Rainbow Days is grateful for the Jonesville Foundation 's generous financial sponsorship of Outdoor Adventure Camp. Additionally, many thanks go to all the individuals who generously donated new swimsuits , towels, flip-flops and goggles so that each and every camper could enjoy some fun in the sun !
