At this time of year, many of you are making charitable gifts and generously helping our neighbors in need. Our Jewish Federation has been a steadfast champion for our local and global Jewish community, uniting us with a shared vision for a safe and flourishing Jewish present and future.
With gifts from across the community, Federation leverages the power of the collective to accomplish so much more than one individual, agency or synagogue could do alone. Here are a few examples of Federation’s extraordinary impact:
· Helping those in need, here and around the world, in partnership with organizations like JFS, JDC and the Jewish Agency
· Together with the Jewish Community Foundation, we coordinate a community wide response to the pandemic, which includes financial assistance to synagogues, agencies and individuals in need.
· Through our new Jewish Free Loan Fund, we can give a hand up instead of a handout
· Developing bold new programs to make Jewish education more accessible and more exciting than ever, for every child in our community.
· Through Destination Hartford, we welcome a rising influx of Jewish families leaving New York and other places for Greater Hartford.
· Securing our Jewish community and building bridges of understanding among diverse groups in our region
· Standing up for Israel and combating rising anti-Semitism
· Training and empowering future generations of leaders
