Dear Barrington 220 Community,

As we wrap up the 2022-23 school year in Barrington 220, it is really starting to feel like summer outside, and I know many of you are anxious to get your summer plans underway. Before you go, I wanted to take a few moments to thank you for another great school year. There is a lot to celebrate and look forward to in Barrington 220!

Over the past couple of years, we have completed Build 220 construction projects at seven of our schools. The projects have been completed on time and within budget, and I can’t wait to begin construction this summer at our last few buildings. Those schools include Arnett C. Lines Elementary, Barbara B. Rose Elementary, North Barrington Elementary, and the Barrington Early Learning Center. In addition, significant construction will be taking place at Barrington High School this summer, as crews renovate many of the spaces inside the building. This is important work that is improving the educational experience for all of our students.

As we head into the 2023-24 school year, we will also continue the work on our strategic plan, Framework 220, by diving deeper into our six strategic priorities. We are grateful to all the stakeholders who helped identify these priorities through a lengthy community engagement process over the past year.

Last, but not least, throughout the 2023-24 school year, the district will celebrate its 50th anniversary. In 1973 Barrington 220 officially became a pre-K thru 12 unit school district. Stay tuned for more details!

In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful summer and I can’t wait to see everyone in August!
