Repairing Homes, Revitalizing Communities and Rebuilding Lives
December 2020
A Note From Our Executive Director
As we near the end of 2020, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many accomplishments we’ve achieved since our fiscal year started July 1st:

  • To better serve our homeowners, we’ve added four wonderful team members: Dennis Smyth, Raul Pineda, Steve Robinson and Joni Keaton.
  • We’ve added three tremendous new RTMC Board Members: Lee Garner, Carmen Larsen, and Francene Walker.
  • We’ve completed 273 critical home repairs for 71 homeowners, including 23 plumbing projects, 13 roofs and 10 HVAC systems, allowing our clients to remain safely at home during these challenging times.
  • We completed renovation of The Emanuel House, where three formerly homeless mothers and their children now call home in time for the holidays.

We could not have reached these accomplishments without your ongoing help and support. You keep our team motivated and our neighbors safe. On behalf of everyone involved in our work, I thank you for believing in our mission.

I know that great things are ahead for our community in 2021. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
With Gratitude,

Rebuilding Together Montgomery County
Let’s Make a Difference in MoCo
We weathered this difficult year together, and in spite of the challenges we’ve collectively faced, we were able to continue our important work to provide critical home repairs to our most vulnerable neighbors in Montgomery County.

We can’t stop now. There are many more neighbors in need with leaky roofs, nonfunctional plumbing, and serious health hazards in their homes. Can we depend on you to lend a hand to your neighbors? Remember, all donations to RTMC are tax-deductible, and donations stay in our community.

Homeowners Can Now Apply Online
We’re excited to announce that our service application is now available online! We’ve made it easier than ever for income-qualifying homeowners to apply to receive critical home repairs. We will continue to assess our application process to ensure that it’s accessible to those who need it most. View the application.

How to Contain a Grease Fire
Protect Yourself From Grease Fires
The family of one of our team members recently had a grease fire that gave us all a scare. Thankfully, everyone is fine but grease fires are serious and can sneak up on you. Here’s how you can be prepared in case one starts in your kitchen. For more information, check out this detailed resource.
A Thank You to Bob & Ellen Goff
A special shout out to Bob and Ellen Goff of Goff Properties LLC. Over the past year, Goff Properties have partnered with RTMC to repair nearly 30 homes for vulnerable neighbors in need. Without Bob and Ellen’s help, we couldn’t have made the impact we have, so we thank them for all their hard work and dedication to making our community a better place for all.
