ENDICOTT COLLEGE TO HOST SINGLE IN-PERSON COMMENCENT FOR 2021 GRADUATES
COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER TO BE CNN CORRESPONDENT DANA BASH
BEVERLY, Mass. -- Endicott College President Steven R. DiSalvo, Ph.D., has announced that the institution will hold one in-person commencement ceremony with graduates of all schools in attendance (undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies), in addition to two guests per student. The change-from the original plan for multiple ceremonies-was made possible by new Massachusetts state guidelines.
The ceremony will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10 a.m., on campus at Hempstead Stadium, and will follow COVID-19 state guidelines.
The Endicott commencement speaker will be CNN Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash, who was scheduled to give the 2020 address before the festivities were canceled due to COVID restrictions. Her address will be delivered virtually.
"After a challenging year, we are looking forward to celebrating the Class of 2021, together on campus," said Dr. DiSalvo, who also added "we will be following all state and local protocols to ensure a safe ceremony for all."
These plans may be altered should conditions related to COVID-19 change or new state and local guidelines are released.
Dana Bash is CNN's Chief Political Correspondent and Co-Anchor of State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, the network's Sunday morning newsmaker show. Bash is based in Washington, D.C., where she covers both campaigns and Congress and regularly serves as a moderator for CNN's political town hall specials. She also moderated CNN's first debate of the 2020 election cycle in Detroit, as well as the last Democratic Presidential Debate of the cycle held in Washington, D.C. Bash also anchored special coverage of Election Night in America surrounding the 2020 election, which lasted several days until CNN was the first to project Joe Biden as the winner. Bash is the winner of the National Press Foundation's 2019 Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. Read her full bio here.
