Chayce is Filled with Joy to be Reunited with His Family in Missouri After Two Years of Homelessness, Chayce is Back Home! When Chayce arrived at the Human Services Campus, he had been homeless for two years. Our staff in the Brian Garcia Welcome Center encouraged him to reconnect with his family in Missouri. We contacted his family to verify that it was a safe, stable environment for Chayce to get back on his feet. His family was thrilled and we provided the bus ticket needed to get Chayce back to Missouri. As he was leaving the Campus, Chayce with was filled with tears of joy and said "This is the best day of my life!" Please join us in congratulating Chayce and the HSC team for reuniting Chayce with family and ending his homelessness!

Volunteer Spotlight: Heaven's Healing Hands Heaven's Healing Hands provides our clients with a "shopping" experience for hygiene items, clothing and backpacks. They also coordinate mobile showers and haircuts for our clients. We are so grateful for our partnership with Heaven's Healing Hands and their assistance with the people we serve! Campus Client Accesses Multiple Services and Finds a New Home in Phoenix Cory utilized many services on campus including Community Bridges, Homeless ID project and HSC Coordinated Entry Navigation Services. Through these connections he was able to access mental health and substance abuse services while obtaining his documents to move into housing. Cory is very excited to have a place of his own; he moved in to the Horace Steele Commons project in October. Huge thanks to HSC staff Mary and Frankie for helping Cory to move in!

Governor's Goal Council Aims to Reduce Chronic Homelessness in Downtown Phoenix by 2021

Resolving homelessness in Arizona recently received a boost when the Governor's Office added Chronic Homelessness to the Arizona Management System (AMS) Goal Council. Headed by Mike Trailor, Director of the Arizona Dept. of Economic Security, the intent of the Council is to create a collaborative effort comprised of government, philanthropic, business, service providers, community funders, individuals and the faith-based communities. While the Council will ultimately address homelessness for the entire state, an initial strategy is to reduce chronic homelessness in downtown Phoenix by 80% by 2021. Mental illness solutions and permanent supportive housing will be key initiatives for the Council. The Human Services Campus, led by HSC Board President Mike McQuaid, will play a vital role in moving this critically important project forward.

" Will Walk to End Homelessness" Saturday, March 16th, 2019 7:30am Join us to raise awareness of homelessness in our community and the incredible job all of the Human Services Campus partners do everyday. The Walk will start and stop at the Campus, go through downtown, and include fun post-walk activities. Stay tuned for more details in future HSC quarterly e-newsletters!
