Kentucky's 2019 League season has wrapped up with the last State Championship, Combo Doubles, in Lexington the weekend of October 3 - 6.

FALL INTERSCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONS

Congrats to our Fall High School Interscholastic Champions - Aces squad from Louisville, coached by Tim McCollum.  The tournament was held in Lexington at Top Seed on October 5th & 6th.  132 players participated on 16 teams from Boyle County, Elizabethtown, Franklin County, Lexington, Louisville, Nelson County and Woodford County.

USTA Ky attended the 
KAHPERD (Kentucky Assoc. for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance)
working with PE teachers, from across the state. College students working toward becoming teachers were also in attendance.

TENNIS ON CAMPUS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The KY Tennis on Campus State Championships were held in Elizabethtown on September 29.  The newest TOC team from EKU won competing against teams from UofL and UK. PHOTOS

2019 YEAR END RATINGS

2019 Year End Ratings will be published December 2nd!!
If your rating changes and you are in need of a team, reach out to your Local League Coordinator for assistance. READ MORE



2020 USTA MAJOR REGULATION CHANGES

The changes are still in DRAFT FORM, however some major changes to be aware of:
  • Adult 40 & Over format is changing for National, Sectional and State Championships to 1 Single and 3 Doubles courts.
    • Local Leagues still have authority to play a different format, 2 Singles/3 Doubles, 1 Singles/4 Doubles, etc...
  • Players must be 18 years of age on date that league starts play
  • Below level players not allowed to play #1 positions when participating in plus (+) level
  • Self-rated and Computer rated appealed players must play at least four (4) matches to advance

Over $1.2 million has been made available for programs and tournaments focused on innovative ideas & growth based programming.  READ MORE  or email  Stacey Croley .

BUILD IT FORWARD GRANT

USTA Southern has opened registration for grant applications for the Build It Forward initiative. $500K has been made available to build or reconstruct tennis courts. There is no deadline, as funds will be available until exhausted.
