Upcoming Solar Oregon Events

Wondering what kind of maintenance solar panels require?

Join Solar Oregon and a local solar installer, Power Northwest for an in-person presentation at their office. Come learn about common solar maintenance needs, tips for keeping your system performing well, and what homeowners can expect over time. Power Northwest will also demonstrate simple maintenance tasks that can be done at home. Bring your questions and gain practical knowledge about caring for a solar energy system.

Discover how solar powers space travel, from the Artemis II mission to past spacecraft and future exploration. Join us for a special virtual event exploring how solar energy powers space travel. Inspired by the excitement surrounding the Artemis II mission, this presentation will dive into the history of solar technology in space, how spacecraft like the Orion capsule use solar panels for power, and the key differences between solar panels used in space and those installed on homes here on Earth. Whether you’re a space enthusiast, curious about solar technology, or simply interested in the future of clean energy, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn how solar power supports exploration beyond our planet.

What is solar resiliency? How do residents achieve it? How does it look on a large scale? Solar alone doesn't keep the lights on when the grid is down. Join Solar Oregon to discover how to build resiliency in your home using solar and storage, and a roadmap for getting there. Guest speaker Mark Farrell will share specs and photos of his own home solar and storage system, providing attendees with an up-close look at a resilient solar system, including installation and day-to-day ownership. We will end with time for Q and A.

Stop wondering where the power goes. Most of us see a monthly total on our utility bill, but do you know which appliances are the real "energy hogs" in your home? To build a truly resilient, solar-ready home, you first have to understand your Energy Load. Join Solar Oregon to break down how Kilowatts (kW) drive your monthly usage. You’ll learn to identify the "heavy hitters" in your home, compare them to efficient alternatives, eliminate "Ghost Loads", and leverage peak-time savings programs. Whether optimizing your current home or planning a future solar and battery system, you’ll gain the tools to manage your energy load efficiently. Snacks and beverages will be provided. This workshop is sponsored by Place to B and Kaleido Studio.
