Senior Government Hosts Winter Formal


Energy Institute High School’s Winter Formal, Snowy Starry Night, was a wonderful evening filled with music, laughter, and winter magic. On December 12th, students arrived dressed to impress and spent the night celebrating the season with friends and making memories. From the beautifully decorated space to the lively dance floor, the evening came together thanks to the hard work and generosity of many.


We would like to extend a thank you to our staff and parent chaperones, who helped ensure the event was safe and enjoyable for all students. We are also incredibly grateful to the families who donated food and drinks and to those who helped decorate, transforming the venue into a magical scene. A special thank you to our senior Student Government, who led the planning and organization of the Winter Formal. Their leadership, creativity, and dedication were evident in every detail of the event, and we are proud of the effort they put into creating such a successful night for their peers.


Thank you to everyone who helped make Snowy Starry Night a success. We look forward to many more memorable events ahead!

Senior Yearbook Photos

Senior yearbook photos will be held during PBL Skills on Wednesday, January 7^th (2^nd, 4^th, 6^th, 8^th) and Thursday, January 8^th (1^st, 3^rd, 5^th, 7^th).

All seniors should wear a nice top or a collared shirt and a tie. Please make sure you are well groomed and ready for your picture the week we return from winter break!  

Senior Leads Holiday Clothing Drive to Support Star of Hope

This holiday season, Energy Institute senior Ryan Simon decided to give back to the community through a student-led clothing drive as part of his LEEP Internship service project. Ryan, who is also a Genesys Works intern, is organizing the drive to support Star of Hope, a local organization that serves families and individuals recovering from abuse and facing poverty or homelessness.

The clothing drive will ran from Monday, December 15 through Friday, December 19, with donation boxes located in the Front Office and Cafeteria. Students were invited to donate gently used, wearable, repairable, or reusable clothing and accessories, including scarves, hats, and gloves. This initiative reflects the spirit of service and leadership modeled by our Energy students. Thank you Ryan for giving back to the community!

Dual Credit Registration


Dual credit registration has opened up for Summer 2026 for current 9^th, 10^th and 11^th grade students. The registration form will be open from December 12, 2025 – January 31, 2026. Senior Class Exhibition: Engineering Ideas Meet Real-World Impact

Energy Institute seniors showcased months of innovation, problem-solving, and design thinking during the Senior Class Exhibition, led by Engineering Design & Development teacher Mark Calvin. The exhibition brought together more than 130 students across 40+ project teams, each presenting solutions rooted in real-world challenges.

The event welcomed over 30 judges from industry partners, including representatives from Oxy, Shell, BP, and other leading organizations. In addition, several student teams collaborated directly with businesses and community partners who served as “customers,” challenging students to design solutions to authentic problems. These collaborations included projects with Moonflower Farms, a local hydroponics company; Cheniere Energy, an international LNG company; and Every Shelter, a nonprofit architectural design firm supporting refugee communities.

Reflecting on the exhibition, Mr. Calvin shared that students truly crushed the presentations, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and deep understanding of their work. Looking ahead, he noted a goal for next year is to allow additional time for early-stage prototyping to further strengthen student designs.

The Senior Class Exhibition continues to highlight Energy Institute’s commitment to project-based learning, industry partnerships, and preparing students for the future of engineering and design.
