Zachary Jackson, Senia Zeigler, Soham Mediwala, Asher Gardner, Jorge Lopez, Kayden Schumacher, John Evans, and Alistair Hardy competed at the local Exhibit board competition. John Evans and Alistair Hardy placed second with "The Legacy of Spindletop" and will be moving on to the state competition at the University of Texas - Austin.

Teen Delegate
"On Tuesday, February 4th I served as a teen delegate to lobby the Texas House of Representatives in Austin to advocate for a $20 million increase in the budget for nonprofit security grants. I met with multiple representatives to discuss the importance of enhancing safety measures for organizations at risk. My goal was to bolster programs including the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), which provides funding for physical and cyber security enhancements to nonprofits vulnerable to terrorist attacks. By the end of the day, I believe I successfully garnered additional support for this critical initiative, contributing to the state’s commitment to public safety." - Brandon Kamin

Cohort 5
In Cohort 5, students have written the first draft of their college essays. This week, students did a gallery walk of the essay to gather inspiration from their peers and see if they could identify who wrote which essay. They then participated in a peer edit and will revise their essays this week.

AP Human Geography
In AP Human Geography, students are binding the children's books they wrote and sharing them with the students at Sheer Love Rwanda in Kigali, Rwanda to share their research on the diffusion of crops over the three agricultural revolutions. They are also hearing from the students at Sheer Love Rwanda through their recorded readings of their own children's books.
