FRC Achievement!

On February 19th, ten of our student leaders attended the new Downtown H.E.B. E-Commerce Fulfillment Center’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. We were given a tour of the facility’s unique robotics fleet. It was very interesting to see how they use robots to aid human work! We are very thankful for H.E.B.’s kindness! Additionally, we were surprised with a $5,000 donation!!! It will allow us to pay for our JV team’s competition and registration fees and provide robotics opportunities to our over 80-member team!

National Association of Manufacturers

Energy Institute High School was proud to be a stop on the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) 2025 Competing to Win Tour focused on energy and the economy as well as workforce policies to fuel manufacturing in America. After visiting Freeport LNG, the tour saw firsthand the future of the manufacturing workforce at the Energy Institute High School—a prime example of an industry-connected STEM program. Our visitors spent time visiting our classrooms to learn how the innovative programming at Energy Institute develops critical thinkers ready to take on STEM careers. The tour was impressed with the creative thinking and professional presentation skills of our students.

Cohort 1 Update

As we get closer to our exhibition, Cohort 1 students are finalizing their PBL 2 deliverables for their “Trash Talk” project. Students have been working very hard preparing to present their documentaries next month by researching, discussing, writing scripts, connecting ideas, recording, giving feedback, and refining their final product.

Flex Days 3/3 & 3/4

Students will participate in Flex Days on Monday, March 3rd, and Tuesday, March 4th. We encourage families to review the schedule for both days to identify which tutorials, study halls, and/or clubs your student should prioritize during the flex periods. By scanning the QR code or accessing the TinyURL below you will be able to view the available study halls, tutorials, clubs, their locations, and the lead teacher for each day. On the last page of the document, you can see the bell schedule for flex days.
