Winter EV Charging Tip

Use your solar panels to charge smarter.

We all love those sunny days when your EV can sip pure sunshine straight from your solar panels! But as winter sets in and daylight shortens, a little tuning helps you stay efficient.

Here’s an easy tip: check your solar production in your app (Enphase, Tesla, or similar). If your system is making about 4 kW, set your EV charger around 16–20 amps instead of the full 32 A (or 48 A). That keeps charging matched to your solar generation so you’re running on sunshine — not grid power.

Midday charging works best when the sun is high, even on cooler days. With a few quick adjustments, you can keep your commute solar-powered all year long — clean miles, lower bills, and zero guilt. 🌞🔋

Safety Is in Our Hands – and Yours

At Connected Technology, safety isn’t just part of our work—it’s part of who we are. Every one of our electricians and technicians is certified in CPR and first aid, so they’re ready to help in an emergency, whether on the job or out in the community.

We hope it never happens, but if a medical emergency arises while we’re working on your property, you can trust that our team knows how to respond quickly and confidently until professional help arrives.

Did you know Texas Good Samaritan Act encourages people to help others in an emergency? It protects those who offer reasonable assistance in good faith, so no one hesitates to step up when it matters most.

We’re proud to put safety first—on your project, and in every situation. It’s just another way we look out for our customers and our neighbors.

Solar and Battery Systems

Still Make Sense...

...even If the Tax Credit Window Is Closing

With the federal 30% Clean Energy Tax Credit scheduled to end after December 31, 2025, many homeowners and businesses are wondering whether solar or battery projects still make sense if installation can’t be finished by the deadline.

The answer is yes — and here’s why:

Energy independence: Solar paired with battery storage reduces reliance on the grid, helping you avoid outages and high-cost peak energy periods.

Long term value: Even without incentives, solar and batteries can provide 20 + years of stable, predictable energy savings while increasing property value.

Rising utility costs: Energy prices continue to rise nationwide, making clean-energy systems one of the few home improvements that pay you back over time.

Time to plan! Starting your design and permitting process now helps you lock in today’s equipment pricing and schedule installation before the credit expires.

Whether your system is completed this year or next, the key is to start planning early so you can maximize both the savings and the benefits of reliable backup power.

Tax credits are still available.

Texas offers a statewide property tax exemption

for solar panel installations.

Is Your Electric

Vehicle Charged?

Start each day with a full charge. Investing in an EV charger will save you time and give you a tax credit this year! Thinking of adding a second EV to your home? Let's talk about electric load and needing a second charger.

Main Electrical Panel

If tripping breakers are a common occurrence, your electrical panel could be damaged. Outdated or overwhelmed electrical panels are the main cause of electrical fires. Your panel may also need to be upgraded to install an EV charger. But no worries, we can help.
