"Green" your property and and save money
To promote tree-planting on residential land and increase the county's tree canopy, the Montgomery County Planning Department is offering residents $25 coupons to buy shade trees costing $75 or more at participating nurseries.
Energy-efficient rebate program
Montgomery County is offering a one-time rebate program that homeowners can use to defray the costs of making energy-efficient improvements, such as insulation, heating and cooling systems and appliances.  The minimum rebate is $500 but typically is $2,000-$3,00 per project. Homeowners are encouraged to use these funds in combination with financial incentives offered by utilities, the Maryland Energy Administration and others. To be eligible, each applicant must have an energy audit performed.

For detailed information and to apply, visit the rebate program website.
Proposed Metro map survey

Metro wants feedback on proposed changes to its iconic Metro map to include the new line (silver? gold? puce?). Here's your chance to let Metro know what you like and don't like.   The survey takes about eight minutes.

Reminder:  Citizens advisory board meeting
The next regular meeting of the full Western Montgomery County citizens advisory board is scheduled for September 19 at 7 pm.  The agenda includes a report from county council member George Leventhal.

The meeting will be held at the B-CC regional services center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane, in Bethesda.
