CalHFA is in receipt of HUD's
Mortgagee Letter 19-06 (ML 19-06)
CalHFA is in receipt of HUD's Mortgagee Letter 19-06 (ML 19-06) and we are currently reviewing our processes and procedures as well as preparing a revised opinion letter for your use to satisfy the requirements set forth in the Letter.
CalHFA would like to assure its lending partners that it is a public instrumentality of the State of California (as mandated by the National Housing Act), and has the legal authority to do business throughout California's territorial jurisdiction.
In addition, CalHFA is working with our legal counsel and the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) to seek clarification from HUD regarding certain issues raised by the Letter. CalHFA will release a program bulletin as soon as possible.
