Parish Support Team Pop Ups

We're here to help you

The Parish Support Team are on tour again! Come along and meet us at two 'pop up' events with any questions you have. These events are for PCCs, church officers and volunteers, anyone involved in a local parish church. It's an opportunity to meet people who can help your church to flourish.

  • Monday 3 November 4-6pm: St Andrew and St Peter, Blofield
  • Tuesday 4 November 4-6pm: Fountain of Life, Ashill

Following the previous 'pop up's in May, we received feedback that parishes are happy to know who is available to help them and what support is on offer.

If you can't make it to either event, please don't forget that you can contact us anytime in work hours Monday to Friday via phone or email or arrange to come into Diocesan House in Easton to meet us.

Main point of contact: Dani Rice, Parish Support Adviser, 01603 880853. or email hello@dioceseofnorwich.org

Bishop joins walking tour on history of black people in Norwich

The walk was devised and led by historian Paul Dickson to celebrate the contribution of black people to the history of Norwich and Norfolk.

Small grants, big impact: milestones celebrated at projects supported by minor repairs initiative

A series of special visits have been made to churches across the Diocese of Norwich in celebration of maintenance projects which have been supported by the Minor Repairs and improvements grants scheme.

The national programme allocated £200,000 to support churches across Norfolk and Waveney in making modest repairs as a way of mitigating the need for costly, large scale work in the future.

Curlews help UEA student win annual Bishop of Norwich Prize for Ecology

Research into nesting curlews has won student Caleb Stradling the Bishop of Norwich's annual Ecology prize. The £1,000 prize is awarded to the University of East Anglia student achieving the highest marks for a masters dissertation in applied ecology and conservation.

The Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham Usher, said "As a Christian it is my calling to care for God's creation, and it is a privilege to be able to support this kind of research. Caleb's work is giving curlews the best chance of survival and helping make it possible that generations to come will be able to delight in the beautiful curlew call."

Children win Bishop’s prize for spiritual nature garden

A new garden which the children of Carbrooke Church of England Primary School designed and helped create has won the first Bishop of Norwich Environment Prize for schools.

The children have been involved with everything, from clearing weeds and debris from an overgrown and unused corner of the grounds to painting the fencing and deciding what to plant.
