CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION FUND
ATTENTION COMMUNITY GOVERNMENTS!
This program aims to 1) support communities, decision-makers and natural resource-sector businesses in identifying, developing, and implementing adaptation actions, 2) support the enhancement of adaptation knowledge and skills among Canada’s professionals and workforce more broadly, and 3) increase access to climate change adaptation tools and resources.
Funding
• A minimum of $150,000, up to 60% of the total cost of a project
• Indigenous organizations may seek up to 100% of the total project costs

SURVEY: MEASURING CLIMATE ACTION IN CANADIAN MUNICIPALITIES
The Municipal Net-Zero Action Research Partnership (N-ZAP) is undertaking an assessment of the current state of local climate action in Canada. Survey results will be made available in a public database and used to inform the development of cutting-edge and practical climate resources for municipalities.
No matter where you are in your climate action journey, they want to hear from you. By completing this survey, your municipality will:
• Have the opportunity to apply to join N-ZAP as a pilot city
• Contribute to the national climate conversation
• Gain access to new climate resources as they become available

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES (NWT) YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Northwest Territories (NWT) Youth Ambassadors Program. This cohort will have the opportunity to volunteer at the 2024 Arctic Winter Games in Mat-Su, Alaska.
To qualify for the program, youth must be between the ages of 16 and 22 on March 1, 2024. All selected youth will be required to have a passport for international travel.

The DMAF is a national, competitive, and merit-based contribution program intended to support infrastructure projects designed to mitigate current and future climate-related risks and disasters triggered by natural hazards, such as floods, wildland fires, droughts and seismic events.

ENERGY INNOVATION PROGRAM:
ON-ROAD TRANSPORTATION DECARBONIZATION
This call for proposals will fund research and development (R&D) projects and demonstration projects that will help decarbonize the transportation sector by addressing technical and market innovation barriers in Canada in two focus areas:
Focus area 1: Low- and zero-emission on-road medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs)
Focus area 2: Infrastructure supporting on-road zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) and overall transportation system efficiency
The call is open to R&D and demonstration projects. Applicants are required to classify their project type as either R&D or demonstration in their submission.

SUPPORTING NORTHERN COMMUNITIES | |
RETROFIT FUNDING FOR MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
This program will address climate capability and resiliency to multi-unit (5+) residential buildings by providing forgivable loans and low-interest loans to help finance building retrofit measures and activities needed to meet climate objectives, leading to deep reductions in energy consumption and GHG emissions.
Funding
• 100% of eligible retrofit costs, up to $170,000 per unit (repayable and forgivable loans combined)

The Estates Management Funding Program provides funding to support capacity-building for estate planning and administration for First Nations, including work to support the impact of settlement agreements on minor, dependent adult and decedent estates.
